À propos de Vitters Hoek 55 Custom

English

The one and only TINTAGEL. Custom design by Hoek and full aluminium construction by Vitters. Performance married with capability for world-adventures or around-the-cans fun. Extensively refitted and updated and available for immediate delivery.

FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:

Arguably one of the best known of all of the Hoek designs and certainly one of the best built with full custom construction to ABS classification in aluminium by the legendary Vitters shipyard in the Netherlands. Not to be confused with her wood epoxy sisters, with her robust-yet-light aluminium construction TINTAGEL was conceived with a plan for world cruising and explorations to high latitudes. Short-handed cruising is both safe and effortless thanks to her hydraulic deck winches and cutter rig with furling headsails.

For those wishing to race, TINTAGEL boasts enhanced upwind performance thanks to her winged keel which also keeps her draft down to a very practical 2.40m, along with the protection of a fully-skegged rudder. In racing mode, TINTAGEL has won the Round Admiralty Island Race in Alaska on two occasions and her owner has also enjoyed short-handed racing in the Mediterranean where the yacht is now based.

Below decks, TINTAGEL benefits from comfortable and spacious accommodation for two couples in two cabins and is finished in luxurious solid Honduras Mahogany with contrasting white lacquered bulkheads, light maple flooring and white Corian counters. Her forward cabin and interior spaces were extensively remodelled as part of a 2015 refit. Detailed owner’s manual 2023 by Spinta Studio available upon request.

Her specification highlights include:-

OWNERS COMMENTS:

TINTAGEL is our first keelboat. It was love at first sight. Maria my wife and I have different hobbies, she enjoys horseback riding and singing in a choir. I have been focused on dinghy sailing since I was a teenager.

TINTAGEL was my dreamboat and she was in need of substantial TLC since she had not sailed for years.

Mallorca Management handled the refit and has helped us to keep TINTAGEL ship shape and Bristol fashion over the years. She is a lovely cruiser and we have sailed close to or + 3000 NM every year. Most of the time has been spent around the Balearic Islands with trips to the mainland, France, Italy, Corsica, and Sardinia.

She is a fantastic sailboat and we have been on the sea in very light and in heavy conditions. She has been safe and always brought us to different ports and home again. My wife had not done much sailing when we took our first trip to Cabrera but she learned fast, staying behind the helm with me as deckhand and navigator. She could be sailed singlehanded but I never sailed her alone. Doublehanded is great.

We do a little racing every year, her class is the Spirit of Tradition and it’s very nice to be able to join the Classic boat regattas such as Palma Vela, Les voiles de Antibes, Corsica Classic, Argentario week, and many more.

We wish her future custodian to get as many nice memories as we have got during the years onboard.

Finally, two cabins on a 55 ft boat are perfect. More cabins, more people, more cocking, cleaning, and less sailing.
