À propos de X-Yachts X4.6

English

EYOTY nominated and Cruising World Boat of the Year. Very high specification X-Yachts X4.6 from 2021 with over 70,000 Euros of additional upgrades in 2022. Beautifully presented and 100% ready to go.

FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:

Delivered to her first owner in 2021 at the X-Yachts shipyard in Denmark, MEDUSA was used for seatrials only before her first owner decided to order a larger X-Yacht. She was then placed back ashore at the X-Yachts shipyard where her current and second owner bought her in 2022 and immediately spent a further Euro 70,000 on additional upgrades including teak decks, vinyl hull wrap, additional genoa tracks, furling Code 0 and gennaker equipment, upgraded charger/inverter and so on. Having sailed MEDUSA down the Mediterranean during the 2022 season, her owner has enjoyed use of the boat through the 2023 season, but now reluctantly offers the boat for sale as he is now focused on other projects.

Her specification highlights include:-

• Standard 3-cabin, 2-heads interior layout

MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:

Pure Enjoyment.

The X4⁶ is a versatile and fast family cruiser, that helps you to make the most out of every moment. Advanced hull construction, a powerful sail plan and a well proportioned cockpit, put you at the centre of an engaging sailing experience. We call this "Superior Sailing Pleasure".

Down below, Scandinavian style and craftsmanship create a place where you will always enjoy spending time. The X4⁶ exhibits quality and attention to detail, both inside and out, helping to realise its purpose as an excellent sailing yacht. This is Pure X.

Modern Hull Design & Construction.

The hull design of the X4⁶ follows the latest design philosophy, which maximises sailing performance. Designed to excel in all wind conditions, due to a generous sail plan, coupled to a high quality mast and rig, including discontinuous rod rigging as standard.

X4⁶ hulls are built with X-Yachts' advanced technology, including vacuum epoxy infusion, and incorporating X-Yachts' famous steel keel grillage to securely hold the composite lead/iron keel, in place for outstanding safety in all conditions.

Intuitive Deck Layout

The deck layout takes a combination of the features from both her siblings; a self-taking jib is standard, with sheet handled by one of the halyard winches, and a mainsheet track is recessed into the cockpit sole with an 8:1 purchase traveller control system. Mainsheets are lead up to winches, that are within easy reach of the helmsman.

Large Harken self-tailing winches are standard, and can optionally be electrified along with one of the halyard winches.

Teak Decks

Teak comes as standard in the cockpit, on the seats and the sole, and is optional on the sidedeck and coachroof top, as well as on the optional electrical operated bathing platform.

Sailplan.

A hull with powerful lines, a precision moulded composite T keel with a heavy bulb of lead giving a high degree of stability, enables the X4⁶ to sail fast and point high to the wind.

Interior Craftsmanship

The influence of clean Scandinavian design, can be seen throughout the interior. The X4⁶ is being traditional but with a modern appearance. The Danish quality craftsmanship is of a very high standard with finely crafted details, and showcases carpentry at its very best. The wooden veneer will be Nordic Oak as standard, with other options on offer.

Natural Light and Fresh Air

The toughened glass coachroof windows, flood the interior with natural light. In addition to the large flush skylights, sections of the side windows are also open-able to provide excellent ventilation. Each aft cabin has an open-able portlight in the cockpit and additionally an outboard facing opening in the coaming windows. Combined with the flush skylight, the aft cabins have optimal ventilation, which is a great benefit in warmer climates.

PRESS REVIEW:

The X46 was conceived as a fast, fun, easy-to-handle cruising yacht – and that’s exactly what she is. Her speed-to-effort ratio is probably among the best you will find in a monohull because she’s small enough to be easily handled by a couple while her race-bred design makes sure she covers the ground at an impressive rate.

She’s not an inexpensive boat and it’s easy to see why. Epoxy-infused, post-cured, cored laminates cost money. So do lead bulbs, flush seacocks, internal steel grids, high-quality joinery and accessible systems. As the saying goes, ‘you pays your money…’

It’s reassuring to know that the entire design and construction process is completed by X-Yachts in-house. And British owners will be pleased to know that the design office, headed by X-Yachts’ co-founder Niels Jeppesen, is based on the Hamble.

It’s also good to hear an owner’s thoughts about the boat he or she chose and why. Clemens once owned a sporty version of a 36ft cruiser that proved too powerful for him and his wife to handle. With the FurlerBoom and self-tacking jib he says the X46 is ‘very relaxing to sail but still with good speed and performance’.

Yachting Monthly – 2019

SPECIFICATION

CONSTRUCTION

RCD Status:

• Our understanding is that the vessel is built in accordance with CE Boat Category A-ocean.

Hull Construction:

• The X46 hull is a composite construction, moulded in a 5‐axis‐milled female tooling. Built using the latest construction technologies with: vacuum‐infused, post cured epoxy construction.

• The hull is a full sandwich construction, using foam core, biaxial E‐glass skins and local E‐glass uni‐ directional reinforcements strategically positioned for strength and weight optimization.

• It is designed and built according to ISO 12215 (European Standard).

• The X4⁶ has standard six large grey tinted laminated toughened glass openings, letting light inside saloon, forward cabin and aft cabin areas.

• All structural bulkheads are securely laminated onto the hull and bonded to the deck. Mechanical fasteners are also added into the high load areas: under the genoa tracks and mainsheet block.

• All bulkheads are made out of marine plywood in thicknesses between 16 and 20 mm.

• At the forward end of the boat watertight bulkheads separate the anchor compartment, sail locker and interior accommodation for safety and reassurance in the event of a collision.

• Pure White'& 3 x 'Light Grey and gelcoat finish hull

• Topsides wrapped in dark blue vinyl with white style lines - installed 2022

• Carbon fibre bowsprit – wrapped dark blue to match wrapped topsides

Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• The deck is a hand lay‐up, full sandwich construction. The foam provides strength and insulation. The deck uses a sandwich construction using core cell foam and the skins are mainly biaxial E‐glass with local uni‐directional E‐glass layers.

• Local use of pre‐laminated carbon beams supporting flat areas under cockpit and foredeck.

• In load bearing areas, such as under deck fittings, either plywood or aluminium replaces the foam core.

• The teak is vacuum applied to the deck as standard to 9mm thickness on cockpit sole, cockpit seats and on transom platform.

• MEDUSA benefits from optional teak covering deck and superstructure areas - installed 2022

Keel & Rudder:

• The keel consists of antimony hardened lead T‐bulb bolted and glued to cast iron fin for high strength, low centre of gravity and comfortable sailing performance.

• MEDUSA features the standard keel of 2.30 m draft. Ballast weight is approximately 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs)

• The keel is encapsulated in three layers of CSM E‐glass with epoxy matrix and faired to original keel section templates.

• The keel is securely bolted to the structural steel keel frame with stainless steel bolts and faired with epoxy filler to obtain a very smooth connection.

• The rudder blade is constructed from sandwich GRP.

• The rudder stock constructed of solid, high strength aluminium with welded spokes, which transmits the steering torque into the rudder blade. The stock is mounted through a needle bearing at the hull and self‐aligning bearing at the deck to achieve minimum friction for effortless sailing.

MACHINERY

Engine & gearbox:

• Upgraded Yanmar 4JH80, 4-cylinder direct injection, common rail, turbo charged diesel engine producing 80hp @ 3,200rpm (standard engine is Yanmar 57hp)

• Yanmar SD60 sail drive gearbox with 2.23:1 reduction ratio

• Engine control panel and throttle/gear lever placed in starboard cockpit recess.

• Engine control panel incorporates rpm meter, hour counter, acoustic alarm for oil pressure and cooling water temperature.

• Engine is mounted to the hull structure using vibration reducing shock mounts.

• The engine compartment is situated below the cockpit floor. Access is provided by removing side walls and companion way steps.

• The engine room is sound insulated using insulation foam mounted into an aluminium acoustic barrier, to reduce noise and heat in the cabins.

• There is also forced ventilation to reduce temperature and radiant heat.

• The GRP engine support liner forms an enclosed engine room sump, which is separate from the rest of the boat, to make it easy to keep clean.
