Gorgeous! You're not used to this kind of superlative at AYC, but it's impossible to remain purely factual when seeing what has been achieved on this ocean-going centerboarder. The initial construction was already perfect, in the line of what the Garcia shipyard is accustomed to offering, but the intervention of her latest owner has made this tall yacht a real success. From the technical choices to the selection of suppliers, nothing was left to chance to complete this result. Launched in July 2023, the price is well below the total investment, as the owner wishes to carry out another project.
A word from the owner: After acquiring this Garcia Yacht 65 in 2020, I set about modifying her according to my principles: new engine, large rigid companionway top with lookout station and various controls, interior refit with the help of decorators, modifications to provide full-height access to the engine room, full paint job and teak rework, hydraulic boom furler and headsail furlers, replacement of electronics... The boat has become just what I wanted it to be: a yacht with sound behavior, maneuverable with a (very) small crew, seaworthy and rational. My experience as a fishing boats owner has taught me that safety at sea often depends on very reliable equipment that is larger than necessary. I finally realized that this ship was a bit too small for my family sailing program.

Vous avez peu l'habitude que l'on utilise ce genre de superlatifs chez AYC, mais on ne peut pas rester uniquement factuel devant ce qui a été accompli sur ce dériveur intégral de grand voyage. La construction initiale était déjà très belle, à l'image de ce que le chantier Garcia a l'habitude de proposer, mais l'intervention de son dernier propriétaire a fait de ce grand voilier une vraie réussite. Depuis les choix techniques à la sélection des intervenants, rien n'a été laissé au hasard pour aboutir à ce résultat. Remis à l'eau en juillet 2023, le prix affiché est bien en dessous du total des investissements réalisés, le propriétaire souhaitant réaliser un autre projet.
Le mot du propriétaire: Après avoir acquis ce Garcia Yacht 65 en 2020, j'ai entrepris de le modifier selon mes principes; nouveau moteur, grande capote de descente rigide avec poste de veille et diverses commandes, reprise des emménagements intérieurs avec l'aide de décorateurs, modifications afin de ménager un accès pleine hauteur à la salle des machines, mise en peinture complète et reprise du teck, bôme-enrouleur et enrouleurs de voiles d'avant hydrauliques, remplacement de l'électronique... Le bateau est devenu comme je le souhaitais; un voilier au comportement sain, manoeuvrable en équipage (très) réduit, marin et rationnel. Mon expérience d'armateur à la pêche m'a appris que la sécurité en mer passe souvent par des équipements très fiables et plus dimensionnés que nécessaire. Je l'ai choisi un peu petit pour mon programme de navigation en famille.
