English

Beautifully constructed, Italian designed and built performance cruiser racer from Studio Vallicelli and Comar Yachts. Rare to the UK market, and ideally suited for club racing, offshore duties or simply family cruising.

Batfish V was aquired by the current owners in 2011 and quickly became their favourite yacht as they scaled down round-the-cans and offshore racing to become fast cruisers. They are now looking for a grown-up cruising yacht for family and dog!‘ BATFISH V’ provides a very rare opportunity to acquire a very nicely specified and much updated example of this fast, stylish and high-quality Italian designed and built racing cruiser. She’s ideal for both racing or fast, easily managed cruising. She has a spacious and comfortable cruising interior comprising three double cabins and two heads, a spacious saloon and galley, making her ideal for shorthanded cruising/racing or family sailing, at a pace!

The boat has been professionally maintained in Hamble with regular mast and fitting inspections and removals. The original Lombardini engine was replaced with a Volvo in 2019 - 300 hours. Saildrive replaced in 2022. It features new plotter, autohelm and 2023 new luxury mattress in owners cabin. It is fitted for both symetric and assymetric spinnakers with Carbon Pole and detachable bowsprit. It remains fast and competitive on the race course. The only aspect in need of replacement is the old TackTic instruments (still work fine). Sails include 2 furling genoas, 2 mains, 2 asymetrics (including indestructible A4) and single S1 symetric. It has three full size double cabins and a surprising amount of stowage for mid-sized cruiser. Two heads including on-suite fwd. Galley is length of main cabin with table seating for 8. Stowage under seats. The current oven is not included in the sale, but would be available seperately - will be replaced with new oven. The boat will come with full kit of engine spares. The cockpit on Comets is a design triumph - very comfortable and well considered ergonomics. It includes 2 large lazarettes port and starboard, tailbags, plus a very large stern locker for liferaft and gear. Traveler runs across in front of large wheel. All lines lead to coachroof (except the Slypig (*Cunningham)) where there are 2 halyard winches (one electric). 2 Jib WInches. 2 German Main Sheet Primaries. Blocks for Spinnakers. Carbon Rudder and Stock, 2.2mm Racing Keel.
