Ocean Star 56.1, built in 2008 by Ocean Yachts S.A. in Greece.
It’s a GRP hull and superstructure, the hull is beige (original gelcoat) and all surfaces of the deck are teak.
Accommodation
The interior is cherrywood and the yacht has 5 spacious double or twin ensuite cabins. It accommodates eight people in the four cabins around the salon, plus two crew in the forward cabin which has upper and lower bunks. This cabin’s entrance is from the fore deck but also through one of the forward cabins.
The galley is equipped with 2 electric fridges, one small freezer, icemaker, microwave, gas cooker and oven. Also a ‘Seagull’ filter/purifier for drinking water.
All the hatches have sliding curtains.
Each of the 5 cabins and the salon have an independent reverse cycle heating/air conditioning (6 units in total) and there is also a fan in every cabin.
Rigging
The rigging is sloop with a roller furling genoa and in mast furling mainsail. There is a spinnaker pole, a 60 sq.m mainsail (2008), and a 100 sq.m genoa (2008).
All the control lines for the sails are led to the cockpit and they are easy to handle even single handedly. The winch used for furling the genoa is electric.
