OWNERS COMMENTS:
The vendor has owned the vessel for 18 years and there were 2 previous owners.
Most recently she was used in the summer only for cruising around Greece and Islands.
Only selling due to declining health.
“In the last 18 years SANTELMO has taken us around the Med safety and in comfort but we feel that the time has come for the vessel to be passed on to new custodians so that the adventure can be relived by others. SATELMO is fully equipped for the live aboard lifestyle and the new owner could step onboard and start the experience.”
RECENT UPDATES:
All servicing and maintenance has been logged by the owner.
Upholstery New 2020
Navigational Electronics all replaced 2019/20.
Engine Rebuilt/reconditioned summer 2016
Full hull epoxy treatment by previous owner 2004.
Additional information/History:
Hull number 68 Built in 1979 but commissioned in 1980, she was shown at the Dusseldorf boat show and purchased by her German 1st owner who named her Wappen von Kaiserslautern.
From 1990 she was left at Vilamoura marina in Portugal the owner had a serious accident and couldn’t use the boat she was neglected for many years until her 2nd owner bought her and completely refurbished her in 2002. This owner was Portuguese and renamed her Santelmo.
We bought the boat in September 2004 she was at that time in Vilamoura marina on the Algarve Portugal.
We sailed all over the med as far east as Turkey, living aboard full time for the first 7 years. In more recent years we have used her for summer cruising mainly in Greece and put her out of the water for the winters.
All the navigation and electronic equipment was replaced in 2019/20 after we had a lightening strike.and has had little use due to the pandemic.
She is currently on the hard in a boatyard in Nidri Lefkada Greece, and hasn't been in the water since 2020.
BROKERS COMMENTS:
Santelmo is a fine and well maintained example of this classic, go anywhere motorsailer. The Nauticat 38 gives a spacious and comfortable live-aboard experience and this model does not come onto the market often.
