This Gib’Sea 35 Master was built in 1991 and is a great mixture of a comfort and long-distance sailing. The boat offers excellent accommodation with two double cabins and two singles in the saloon, complete with comfortable finishing touches. 

This sturdy family yacht has been well maintained by the current owner and is ideal for coastal and long-distance sailing. This yacht has been owned by the current owners for three years and was last out of the water in February 2024 for its annual service. A berth at MDL Chatham Marina is available. A copy of the 2021 survey report is available to read when viewing the yacht 


Accommodation :

This Gib’Sea 35 Master offers a total of six berths, in two double cabins, and two single berths in the main saloon. The owner’s cabin is forward a double berth with storage underneath and additional storage to both Port and starboard side.

The main saloon has a central folding table with u shaped seating to the portside and bench seating to starboard side with lifting back rests creating two single beds. The saloon has LED lighting, 230v Sockets, TV & DVD player, and blue upholstery.

The Galley located on the port side in front of the guest cabin has good sized storage cupboards, sink with pressurised hot and cold water heated by the engine calorifier and 240V immersion heater, two-burner gas hob and oven. The galley also has an integrated coolbox.

This boat also has a navigation area on the Starboard side aft of the saloon consisting of electric control switches, chart-table, Autohelm ST50 Multi, Cobra DSC Fixed VHF, iPad Navigation, 9th Gen Wi-Fi & cellular that interfaces with Vesper and Standard Horizon DSC Handheld VHF Radio. 

The Heads are located Aft of the main saloon behind the navigation area on the starboard side. The heads consist of a stainless-steel sink mounted in a white vanity unit with both hot and cold pressurised water, Mixer shower unit with shower attachment, sea toilet, shelf, and large cupboard storage.

The guest cabin is located aft of the boat on the Port side under the cockpit, with double berth, under berth storage, and hanging storage to the Port side.

The companionway steps lead up to a large aft cockpit with seating to either side and a steering wheel and engine controls at the rear of the vessel. The Cockpit benefits from Sprayhood and full Bimini/cockpit enclosure new in 2017, 2 x 325W solar panels are mounted over the cockpit, stanchion mounted BBQ and storage for the Honda 25hp outboard.

History & Construction

The Gib’Sea 35 Master is a monohull sailboat designed by Philippe Harlé and manufactured by Gibert Marine in France. The Gib’Sea boats, including the 35 Master, were well-regarded for their performance and finish. They were regarded as sturdy vessels and built to last. This Gib’Sea has a white GRP hull with white superstructure and teak cockpit seats and cockpit floor. It has a cast iron fin keel with a blub. The yacht was last out of the water at the start of 2024 when she was antifouled, and anodes were changed.

Spars & Sails: 

This Gib’Sea 35 Master is a Bermudan sloop with masthead rig with deck stepped Zspars aluminium mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging, adjustable backstay, and kicker. The vessel has a Harken Furler system for the foresail with a slab reefing mainsail, Stackpack sail covers with lazyjacks. The Boat also benefits from deck organisers new in 2024. The standing rigging was replaced in 2023 and the running rigging was replaced in 2022. 

Winches:

  • 2 x Halyard Harken 16, single speed, self-tailing winches
  • 2 x Genoa, Harken 42, two speed, self-tailing winches. 

Sails: 

  • 1 x Dacron Jib – 2009 - Last laundered and UV strip replaced 2021 – Good Condition.
  • 1 x Dacron Mainsail - Dacron – 2009 – Good Condition
  • 1 x Storm Jib – Dacron with Hanks – Original from 1991 – Condition unknown
  • 1 x Cruising Chute - Westaway – 1997 - Condition unknown 

Mechanical System: 

This Gib’Sea 35 Master has a single shaft driven 28HP Yanmar 3GM30F diesel engine powering a three bladed propellor. The cutlass bearing was replaced in 2022 along with the shaft seal. The engine is freshwater cooled via a calorifier with a 60 litre stainless steel fuel tank and cockpit controls. The engine was last serviced in 2023 by the owner. This yacht will cruise at approximately six knots and has a maximum speed of eight knots. 

Electrical Systems: 

5 x 12-volt batteries (1 x engine replaced in 2021 + 4 x domestic leisure batteries replaced in 2022) The main engine battery charges from the alternator and a Victron blue Smart battery charger that was fitted in 2021. The four domestic batteries are charged by 2 x 650W cockpit mounted solar panels, Victron inverter/charger, 240v shore power system with ring main.
