Custom Wooden Cruiser (1964) à vendre dans Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, Hampshire, Royaume-Uni

English

Tilapia is a Custom Wooden Cruiser that was built in Upton, Poole in 1963. She's a carvel-built wooden twin-screw motor cruiser, driven by two independent diesel engines. Including a short boarding platform at the stern, her overall dimensions are length 40', beam 13' 6", draft 3' 9".

The hull is, to owner's knowledge, sound throughout but the superstructure does need work. The late owner often commented on how reliable the engines are. Of course, an element of tinkering with ancillaries commensurate with age can be expected.

Forward, there is a cabin with two single bunks, a galley (with sink/drainer, fridge, oven, grill, twin hobs, decent sized worktop), and a bathroom (with sink, sea-water toilet, small shower alcove). Aft there is a cabin with a double bed, single bed, sink, and (hidden) sea-water toilet. Between is a large saloon with seating, a good sized table, an entrance either side, navigating equipment, and 360 degree windows. Under the saloon is a large engine room (a pair of external legs are stored here which allow the boat to happily settle without a list with the tide completely out).

There is hot and cold water to all sinks. Both 12V and (shore-provided) mains wiring is fitted throughout, with lighting on both. The engines generate all the heat and power that's needed when traveling say an hour or more during the day but there is also a (mains) immersion heater and (12V) diesel-powered air heater ducted to all cabins. (Although the latter of these has not been used in several years.)

Broker's Comment

Tilapia is a old wooden boat and by definition will require attention, but she has character and plenty of space. The engines are older than the boat at 1948, but still do their job. She is a great live aboard and would go anywhere an adventurous owner would like to take her. Over the years she has been to Paris, London, the Isles of Scilly, and just about every significant river and port between northern Cornwall and East Anglia (all logged).
