A rare and delightful Arcona 340, on just her second owner from new.
Stefan Qviberg proved yet again that a safe and comfortable family boat, can also be a real racer; combined elegantly in the Arcona 340. Built in the same way as all Arconas, with a vacuum laminated hull and deck, all bulkheads hand laminated in place and of course, a steel cradle to distribute loads between the keel and rig.
She has an extensive sail wardrobe and her sail drive seal was replaced in 2019 (now with sensor).
Construction
Vinyl ester sandwich construction vacuum laminated with multiaxial glass fabric, core material is 20 mm divinycell, solid laminate around keel, rudder and through hull fittings. Hull and deck are white with dark blue waterline in NPG-based gelcoat. Open transom with bathing platform.
Bulkheads-Marine plywood securely bonded to hull and deck
Steel Floor Grinder-Made of hot galvanized steel. The frame takes up the loads from hull and rig.
Keel and rudder - Bulb keel in antimony hardened lead. The keel is bolted to hull and steel frame with 10X 20 mm stainless steel bolts. Rudder blade hand laminated multiaxial glass. Rudder stock 78 mm aluminium tapered at both ends, self aligning needle bearings.
Mast and Rigging
Mast out and rig serviced/parts replaced and a new mast boot in 2022.
New spinnaker, jib and main sheets in 2022.
Mast in silver anodised aluminium profile 211/110mm stepped on the keel.
Upgraded Dyform shrouds
Stainless steel chain plates, bolted to stiffeners at the hull sides.
Boom in silver anodised aluminium profile 171/94mm with internal outhaul and single line reefing system.
Rod kicker led back to cockpit.
Furlex 200 TD furler.

Engines
Yanmar 3 YM20/SD20 fresh water-cooled marine diesel. Power output at propeller, 20 hp. Instrument panel with rev. counter. Control display for low oil pressure, high engine temperature and charging. Audible warning for oil pressure and water temperature. G:\A 340\Specification 340 English.doc/2015-04-17. YanmarSD20. sail-drive and 2-blade folding propeller. The engine is easily accessible for service. All hull inlets are fitted with seacocks. All hose clips are in stainless steel.
Electrical system information
2 x 12 V 70 amp. hr domestic lighting battery, 14 V a.c. 80 amp. alternator. 12 V 70 amp hr engine batteries. Well-dimensioned electrical cables. The cables are to a large extent run in conduits. Main switch panel with circuit breakers. Water and fuel meter, voltmeter/ampmeter. Two main switches, 2 x 12 V power sockets, plus socket in the forecabin.
EPIRB in aft berth.
Deck and fittings
Genoa sheet winches 2 x Harken 46 STA. Halyard winches 2 x Harken 40 STA..2 x 1.5m genoa tracks. Her German mainsheet system in storage, so she is currently rigged with a block and tackle system, since 2017.
4 x mooring cleats, pulpit nav light, double pushpit with flagpole holder and stern nav light.

Steering
Integrated steering pedestal in GRP, white, with stainless steel wheel 140 cm. Stainless steel chain and wire cable to a large quadrant. Wheel shaft with adjustable friction brake. Emergency steering on rudderpost.
Hide covered wheel.
Interior
High standard handcrafted interior in selected and unstained mahogany, varnished to a satin finish. Interior lined in mahogany. Flooring of varnished teak and wholly removable hatches for the bilge, seacocks etc. Headlining of white vinyl covered plastic foam with mahogany strips. Curtains to all portholes. All cushions in a cream furnishing fabric. Cupboards and doors properly framed and panelled in mahogany with profile edges.
Forward Cabin- Large cabin separated from the main saloon by a door. Very comfortable full size double berth. Storage space under berth. Storage cupboards over berths. Reading lamp over each berth. Wardrobe.
Saloon - Spacious and light saloon with full headroom, 190 cm. Settee to port side, length 200 cm, settee to starboard, length 200 cm. Behind back rests large storage space. Reading lamps. Bookshelves and cupboards. Ceiling lights. Large table with drop leaf and bottle locker. Bespoke infill and infill cushion to provide a comfortable saloon berth.
Navigation area - Large navigation area. Chart table with storage under. Drawers, chart lamp, ample space for electronic equipment
Gallery - L-shaped galley. Centrally positioned, allowing free passage between the cockpit and saloon. Stainless steel twin sinks. Gimballed twin burner gas cooker with oven. Gas pipes with stop valve and leakage indicator between cooker and gas bottle. Large working areas in easily cleaned and durable laminate. Well-insulated refrigerator. Storage compartment for provision. Cupboards for plates, cups and glasses. Bottom cupboard for utensils. Waste basket under sink. Drawers for cutlery. Cutting board. Lights over working areas.
Aft Cabin - One large cabin separated from the main saloon by door. Large wardrobe, wide full-size double berth. Reading lamps, 2 open able portholes.
Toilet and Shower - Large toilet compartment with full headroom and shower facilities. Large recessed washbasin. Sea toilet with holding tank (50 l). Electrical freshwater pump. Mirror, large cupboard, ceiling light. Shower water evacuation pump. Wardrobe for wet clothes.
Fittings - Internationally approved navigation lights. 4 portholes in coach roof, 1 porthole in cockpit. All portholes in 6 mm acrylic glass in aluminium frames. Illuminated compass mounted on the instrument console over the companionway.
Ventilation - Forward cabin has1 deck hatch, the Saloon has 1 deck hatch and 2 ventilators, the aft cabin has 2 opening portholes and the Toilet-shower has 1 opening port hole.
Internal gas alarm.
Diesel powered Eberspacher heating.
De-humidifier on board.
