New Name in Marine Industry With Oceans of Experience

METS 2010, 16th - 18th November, Stand 03.323 in the British Pavilion

A new name in marine communications has been launched specialising in the design and development of advanced communication and safety products. The directors of the company, Ocean Signal, have brought together one of the most highly experienced electronic engineering teams in the marine communications industry. Individually they have designed and developed many of the market leading products and now, as Ocean Signal, bring a fresh approach to safety at sea for commercial, fishing and leisure craft.

The managing director of Ocean Signal, Alan Wrigley, has an impressive background himself. Starting in the marine industry in the 1970s with Racal Marine, he later became a director of Sharp Auto Pilots where he stayed for 4 years. He was a founding director of the original Navico where he led the development of the highly successful Axis VHF radios. Following the acquisition of Navico by Kongsberg Maritime, Alan became managing director of Simrad Ltd from 2000 - 2008. He is now joined by technical director, Simon Nolan, one of the world's leading authorities on radar target enhancing, and his team of designers and engineers based in Kent, UK.

Alan Wrigley commented, "We have been fortunate to bring together an incredibly strong team with many years experience in the development of marine communication and safety products. They have worked tirelessly in the development microwave and other technologies to create a completely new range of products which we will launch internationally. Each of our Ocean Signal products will have undergone meticulous design and research to ensure they outperform or offer more focused functionality to the user and provide total confidence in their effectiveness. We will make sure that Ocean Signal is a company that provides the technology and quality of product that will set industry standards."

Ocean Signal will launch its initial range to the leisure marine industry at METS in Amsterdam. The company will continue to develop its distribution network in Europe and USA to facilitate its target of becoming one of the leading organisations in communication and safety at sea.
