The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 is a modern family cruiser with a smart layout and excellent sailing performance. General
This yacht is the very first Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 delivered to Norway. One owner from new. Never chartered. All early production issues have been thoroughly addressed, and the yacht presents in excellent condition, very well maintained and significantly upgraded. Highlights include:
•Sail wardrobe from Gran Seil with custom-made sails in Contender CDX cloth, including furling Code 1, combined with a new mast (2021), reinforced boom, and modern rig configuration.

Layout
The Jeanneau 440 features a modern and functional deck layout with wide, safe side decks and excellent accessibility. The bowsprit is extended in width and equipped with a fold-down ladder, allowing easy access ashore directly from the bow. At the stern, removable dinghy davits are installed, along with a separate removable davit and bracket for an outboard motor.
The cockpit is spacious, safe, and highly social, with twin helm stations and excellent visibility. Folding cockpit table in oiled teak. The cockpit backrests can be folded down to create two large sunbeds. A pivoting transom opens up the cockpit and provides a large, practical bathing platform with easy access to the water.
Below deck, the saloon is bright and spacious with good headroom and large windows. Comfortable seating around the dining table, and a practical G-shaped galley to port with generous workspace and storage. Dedicated chart table with seating.
Three double cabins: two spacious aft cabins and one large forward cabin. Two separate heads, one aft and one forward, both with showers, offering high comfort and privacy for family and guests on longer voyages. The forward toilet has a manual seawater pump, while the aft toilet features electric freshwater flush.
Performance
The Jeanneau 440 is a modern, easily handled cruiser with excellent sailing characteristics. The wide, stable hull with pronounced chines and twin rudders provides confident steering, strong grip, and high stability.
The yacht is upgraded with a new mast (2021), reinforced boom, and an enhanced sail wardrobe from Gran Seil, including Contender CDX-9 and CDX-11 sails reinforced with Spectra for both headsail and mainsail. A Code 1 in Contender on FX furler with sheets and torsion-stiff AT cable is included. The original Jeanneau triradial Dacron mainsail is also included.
Genoa tracks are adjustable from the cockpit via lines, replacing the original pin-stop system. Electric genoa winches, electric coachroof winch, and an additional manual coachroof winch. Dyneema halyards for mainsail and outhaul. Genoa halyard, two halyards for Code 0, and topping lift for spinnaker pole. Mainsail flattening system for upwind sailing. Selden manual backstay adjuster installed.
This rig and modern equipment result in a responsive, easy-to-sail cruiser with premium performance, making trimming and maneuvering highly efficient. Very well suited for both long-distance cruising and comfortable family sailing.
