The Jeanneau Sun Fast 26 was designed as a fast, fun cruiser / racer which is easy to handle that also has comfortable accommodation. Much has been done in the last 2 years to improve the boat but it has also developed leaks which need addressing. The owner is no longer in a position to undertake this work and the boat has been priced to reflect the situation.
Construction: GRP hull and decks, fin keel with bulb (1.50m draft) and twin rudders with tiller steering. The rudder stock was removed and resealed in 2024. Structurally, the boat seems sound but time would need to be spent re-bedding fittings and windows to eliminate leaks.
Mechanicals:
Powered by a Yanmar 1GM10 inboard diesel with a shaft driven 3 bladed folding propeller. 2 x 12v batteries provide engine start and service power, these charging via the engine (new alternator 2024) solar charger and shore power battery charger (Victron new 2024). New Victron shore power system and battery monitor fitted 2024 including a twin USB socket.
Rigging and Sails:
Fractional rig with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging (replaced 2023 / 24 along with gooseneck).
Mainsail with slab reefing and Lazy Jack bag and roller furling Genoa (2008) with UV strip (strip replaced 2024). Both sails are by Goacher Sails and said to be in "reasonable condition".
Conventional and asymmetric spinnakers, both unused by the current owner. Retractable bowsprit.
Accommodation:
The beamy hull gives a surprising amount of space down below. To port, there is a good sized heads compartment with sink and holding tank, a small chart table with fridge under, electronics panel, VHF and Garmin GPS. To starboard is an aft double cabin and galley area with twin burner gas hob, sink and storage. Central table with seating leading to a V berth. Eberspacher diesel cabin heating fitted along with shore power sockets.
