UK RESIDENTS ONLY. Built in America in 2008 by HUNTER BOATS, “Happy Days” was imported to the UK by “A M Dickie & Sons, Bangor, Wales”, registered in the UK, and sold in 2009 to her first owners who paid the VAT. She changed hands in 2010 and was sailed by her next owners from the UK to Greece, where she settled prior to Brexit. A UTL is obtained.
This syndicate wishes to invest in and look after “Happy Days”, enabling safe, stress and maintenance-free, fun sailing, without worrying about end of holiday cleaning or taking laundry home each trip.
Changeovers are usually on the Skorpios Pontoon, Nydri, managed by Conny. Guardiennage, cleaning, laundry, and personal belonging storage between holidays, are managed by MORGAN MARITIME (office opposite Skorpios pontoon). Members supply their own lifejackets, bed linen, pillows, duvets, blankets, tea towels, towels, and bathmats. Members are responsible for their own pontoon use, laundry, after-use boat cleaning and refuelling costs.
We do expect members to be mindful of their investment and therefore sensible when it comes to handling the boat and keeping her safe and clean during usage. Equally, we expect members to be trustworthy, honest, and respectful toward other syndicate members. Members should also be competent sailors holding a minimum of RYA Day Skipper, VHF and Diesel Engine qualifications. We also recommend holding an RYA First Aid certificate.
Engine checks (WOBBLE) are carried out before every use; logbook is completed each day.
Investments for 2024/25 included: new house batteries and battery monitor; replacement fire extinguishers, flares, smoke and CO monitors; Cat C first-aid kit plus additional first aid equipment; four guest life jackets; comprehensive tool kit; recovery horseshoe float, throw line, sling and ladder, safety lines; ball fenders; two 50 m floating lines; mosquito nets for port-holes, companionway and hatches; stainless bow protector; replacement head - black tank plumbing; child safety netting.
Priority purchases for 2025 include replacement stove, tender and outboard.
Preferred handover days are Sundays, to suit both current syndicate members who are based in Edinburgh. Jet2 and Easyjet fly from most UK airports to Preveza on Sundays. July/August dates available for 2025.
Happy Days is lifted out of the water during October and overwintered in the Vliho (Maria’s) Boatyard, where annual maintenance, servicing and any repairs will be undertaken by LEFKAS BOAT SERVICES.
