Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised C – “Coastal” for 8 persons on board.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Epoxy-sheathed timber hull in Douglas Fir strip plank construction over laminated frames, with two layer of double diagonal mahogany veneers bonded to the planks and coated in epoxy resin-impregnated glass fibre cloth.
  • Hull topsides prepared in Awlgrip Hullguard Extra, Ultrabuild 545 Epoxy Primer and painted in Flag Blue Gloss Awlgrip G-Line paint system, with white boot top.
  • Interior joinery in selected Cornish Chestnut and Black Walnut – varnished in Intetrnational Interior Finish 860 Epoxy Primer, with Interior Finish 770 Satin Finish topcoat.
  • Interior painting in Sayerlack PU lacquer 25% Gloss.
  • Varnished solid teak deckhouse and superstructure, with toughened glass windows and stainless steel trim.
  • Brightwork in Map Yachting Wood Impreg EP120, with Map Yachting 360 UVR gloss PU topcoat.
  • Coachroof prepared in Awlgrip Hullguard Extra, Ultrabuild 545 Epoxy Primer and painted in Matterhorn White Gloss Awlgrip G-Line paint system.
  • Decks in 12mm marine ply sheathed with epoxy and overlaid with a fully swept teak deck (Boracol anti-fungicide applied to decks in August 2023).
  • Teak cockpit sole with hinged access hatch to lazarette.
  • Teak sprayrail to topsides.
  • Varnished teak transom, with yacht name in highly-polished stainless steel.
  • Epoxy coating to hull and topsides.
  • Brightwork varnishing taken back and re-coated every 2 years.
  • Last re-coating with Durepox and AwlCraft 200 Clearcoat in June 2023.
  • Antifouling (last antifouled June 2023).

  • Opening deck hatch providing natural light and additional ventilation.

 

Galley:

  • Located both sides and accessed down two steps in the forward end of the saloon.
  • One stainless sink recessed into the worktop, with hot and cold running water.
  • Extensive storage cupboards with drawer by the sink and crockery stowage.

Helm:

  • The helm controls the hydraulic steering system via a steering wheel connected to a hydraulic pump, with Tecnautic  instrumentation and controls..
