The Beneteau Oceanis 311 sails really well and has been a popular choice as a family cruiser with a good turn of speed for many years. This 2002 lift keel version (0.80m to 2.15m draft) has been well cared for and is presented in very tidy order. Tiller steering makes for a roomy cockpit which also benefits from a full enclosure. Accommodation for up to 6 with double cabins fore and aft and a homely feeling saloon.
Construction:
GRP construction to hull and decks with a ballasted stub keel and additional swing keel, (0.80m to 2.15m draft). Twin rudders and tiller steering. This configuration allows the boat to dry out.
Mechanicals:
Powered by a Volvo Penta MD2020-D 19 hp inboard diesel with shaft driven 2 bladed fixed propeller. A pair of 12V batteries supply engine start and service power, these charging via the engine and a shore power battery charger.
Rigging and sails:
Fractional Sloop with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging. Slab reefing Mainsail with Lazy Jack bag and roller Furling Genoa with luff sock. The sails are described as in "used but serviceable condition"
Accommodation:
Accommodation for up to 6 with fore and aft double cabins and two single saloon settee berths. The saloon has settee seating, a central dining table with folding leaves. The galley has a gas oven with hob, sink with pressurised hot and cold water, fridge and storage. There is a chart table with electronics panel. Heads compartment with sea toilet, holding tank, sink and shower. Diesel cabin heating is fitted which along with the full cockpit enclosure makes year round use a practical possibility.
