This is a 1991 example of the popular Westerly Tempest 31. Arion has six berths in two double aft cabins and the saloon. She is the twin bilge keel version and benefits from some recent navigation equipment, tender with outboard motor, 2023 furling genoa and lots of safety equipment.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to 6 berths with two aft cabins and the saloon. Up forward there is a full width heads compartment with marine toilet, shower and basin. Hot and cold pressurised fresh water system, 90 litres tank capacity. Access to the chain locker and good stowage. Moving aft in to the saloon, there is a dinette to port and settee berth to starboard with double folding leaf table between. Stowage under the berths, lockers at eye level with shelving above. The L shaped galley is to starboard and has a two-burner gas cooker with gill and oven plus a sink and top loading fridge. Plenty of dedicated crockery stowage plus drawers and lockers. Opposite the galley to port is the outboard facing chart table with fold out navigation seat and switch panels. There are two symmetric double aft cabins with shelving and lockers. Curtains.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the companionway is the 1991, Volvo Penta 2002, 18hp marine diesel engine. Fresh water cooled. Shaft drive to two blade fixed propeller. Rope cutter to shaft. Single lever engine controls. Stainless steel fuel tank of 72 litre capacity. Engine hours recorded at 1,523 in 2025.

Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Deckstepped mast and boom by Kemp Masts Ltd (1991). Stainless steel standing rigging (2010). Terylene running rigging (2012). Slab reefing to mainsail. Built by Westerly Yachts Ltd in 1991. White grp coachroof with moulded non skid decks. White grp hull with style stripes. Cast iron twin bilge keels. Self draining anchor well and cockpit. Sugar scoop type transom. Tiller steering to spade rudder. Teak hand and tow rails plus rubbing strakes. Stainless steel safety rails and guar wires with alloy stanchions.
