***NEW STANDING RIGGING 2025***NEW SAILS 2024***2025 SURVEY***
When you first approach a Maxi 1100, it’s hard not to admire what a beautiful yacht she is. Designer Pelle Petterson achieved something special — a yacht that blends elegant lines, superb sailing performance, and remarkably comfortable accommodation below decks. The teak decks only add to her sense of quality and prestige.
But the appeal isn’t only skin-deep. Step aboard and you’ll immediately notice the craftsmanship, the clever use of space, and the way she feels both capable and easy to handle. This Maxi 1100 was built with the lighter teak interior, creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere below. She truly offers the best of both worlds — performance and comfort in perfect balance.
This particular Maxi 1100 boasts an extensive specification and a long list of upgrades, including new Raymarine plotter, radar and instrumentation (2022), Webasto diesel-fired heating (2020), Lewmar electric anchor windlass (2022), cockpit camper cover, liferaft (serviced April 2025), and much more.
Moonshine Blues has never been raced and has been cherished by her enthusiastic owners, who have cruised her far and wide while maintaining and upgrading her with care. Recent highlights include a new fully battened mainsail and jib by Sanders Sails (2024), new standing rigging (2025), and a replaced Saildrive diaphragm (2022).

Owner's Comments
We bought Moonshine Blues in 2011, we fell in love immediately with her style, comfort and performance.
That first summer, we took her on a six week trip to the Channel Islands, the West Country and the Scillies, and from then on we would go on a major trip each year, while also sailing in the Solent at weekends, Bembridge and Newtown Creek being our favourite spots. The excellent Maxi Owners Association organises rallies in the area so we got to know all the local highlights and made some good friends, several of whom would join us on our longer trips. The Maxi WhatsApp community has proven to be an excellent resource for helpful and friendly advice.
Over the years we cruised to southern Brittany, Normandy, the Channel Islands, the Scillies, the West Country, a circumnavigation of Ireland and a voyage up to the Western isles; we island-hopped on our return, down from Eigg, Mull, Gigha, Sanda, Isle of Man, Holyhead, Bardsey, Skomer, back to Cornwall. Magical.
She is a beautiful boat to sail – responsive, fast, comfortable and trustworthy.
Moonshine Blues has been an integral part of our lives for 15 years, and given us and our family and friends wonderful experiences and rich memories. We have now come to the time of our lives where changes are happening, some lovely, grandchildren, some not so good, such as arthritis, and we feel it’s now time to pass Moonshine Blues on to someone who can enjoy her as much as we have done.
