Coast Guard officials cut ribbon at the new Southwest Harbor boathouse dedication, enhancing year-round maintenance capabilities.

BOSTON — Rear Adm. Steven Poulin, First Coast Guard District commander, presided over the dedication of a new boat house Thursday morning at Coast Guard Sector Field Office Southwest Harbor.

The new 2,800 square foot boathouse will provide personnel a place to perform maintenance on Coast Guard assets year-round, including during Maine’s harsh winter months.

The project began in March of 2015 and finished this month, costing $1.2 million.
