Founded by the astute craftsmanship of German Frers Sr., the prestigious Frers Yacht Design and Engineering firm was established in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1925. The legacy has been passed down through generations, nurturing a deep-set passion for the aesthetic art and functionality of yacht design. Exquisitely designed for performance, comfort and elegance, the brand has pioneered innovation in custom and production yacht designing; proudly holding an international reputation for integrity and quality.
The helm was taken over by German Frers Jr in the 60s. He further expanded the horizon, designing a wide range of craft, from the 20’ day-sailer to the 65.5 meters performance ketch, 'Hetairos'. His designs boast of several racing victories including America’s Cup and Admiral's Cup, thereby gaining international acclaim for the brand. Additionally, he had the acumen to transition smoothly into the era of computer-designed yachts, further solidifying Frers’ position in the nautical world.
The headquarters remain in Buenos Aires, but in response to the global reach of their client base, additional design offices were set up in Milan, Italy, and Annapolis, USA. Today, Frers Yacht Design is run by Germán Frers Jr's sons, who continue to uphold the family's passion for yachting, combining comfort, performance, and sea-kindliness. Their innovative designs have kept German Frers at the forefront of the luxury yacht industry, making them a household name in sailing and yacht design all around the globe.
