Experience the enthralling joy of sailing with this remarkable CBS Nautica CBS 888, a timeless classic hailing from 1981 and moored in Fiumicino, Italy. Measuring 8.91 metres long with a beam of 2.62 metres, this enchanting beauty effortlessly encapsulates "popular boating" from the late 70s. Featuring pleasing lines and a superior level of finish, this adept sea vessel promises an easy-to-navigate experience. Be it the onboard VHF, compass, or autopilot, the CBS 888 is fully stocked to ensure seamless navigation. This stalwart is not just beautiful but also efficient; she keeps upwind excellently and responds sensitively to the rudder. Although she leans slightly when the cockpit is crowded, it's part of her unique charm. Inside, she comfortably houses five berths, a kitchenette, and a toilet room. The removable chart table may be a peculiar feature, but it adds to its old-world charm. Complete with safety equipment like a bilge pump and battery charger, this boat carries the unmatched character of a sea veteran in a compact, cosy, and cost-effective package.
Economical and simple to drive, it has been defined as "the small car of the sea". Cozy interiors.
The Cbs 888 is one of the boats that contributed to the diffusion of the so-called "popular boating" at the end of the 70s. Built by the Cbs shipyard in Fiumicino (Rome), she was designed by Aldo Renai taking into account the cruising needs of a small family unit and a favorable quality/price ratio. With pleasing lines and a good level of finish, it is simple to sail, has the rig at the masthead, the rigging led back to the cockpit and a low deckhouse with windows that connects well with the deck. At sea, the 888 has good pace, keeps upwind well and is sensitive to the rudder; however, it tends to lean a little especially when the cockpit is “crowded”. The interiors are rational, offering five berths, a removable chart table (impractical), kitchenette and toilet room.(BOLINA)
