The Nicholson 345 combines speed, comfort and elegance. It was designed by the renowned New Zealand naval architect Ron Holland, who is known for his successful racing and cruising yachts. The Nicholson 345 was built by the Camper & Nicholson yard in England, which has a long history of producing high-quality boats since 1782. Only 25 units of the Nicholson 345 were built between 1979 and 1981, making it a rare and sought-after model. The Nicholson 345 is a fractional sloop with a fiberglass hull, fin keel and a spade rudder.

It has a high ballast-to-displacement ratio of 41.18%. This means that the boat is stable and stiff. The sail area is 600 sq ft, which gives it a high sail area-to-displacement ratio of 20.67. This means that the boat is fast and responsive, especially in light winds.

The boat has a sleek appearance & has a reputation for its seaworthiness and handling, and is able to cope with most weather conditions.
