 The Moody 30, designed by Angus Primrose, offers spacious and comfortable accommodation given its size, featuring a straightforward yet highly functional layout. Accommodation :

The Moody 30 offers six berths across two cabins. It boasts a generous headroom of approximately 6 feet, ensuring a spacious feel throughout. 

In the forepeak, is a comfortable double berth, complete with an infill. An opening deck hatch overhead not only facilitates ventilation but also provides natural light.

Located aft of the forepeak is the separate Heads compartment,  equipped with a marine toilet and a single wash basin with shower attachment with hot and cold water with storage underneath,  

The saloon has an off-centre table to port with two folding leaves, with a U-shaped settee. The saloon table lowers to make into a double berth. On the starboard side, additional settee seating offers a single berth with convenient under-seat and shelf storage. 

Aft on the port side is the galley with a 2-burner gas stove complete with a grill and oven, alongside a microwave for convenience. A sink with pressurized hot and cold water, a cool box, and ample storage space. Hot water is supplied by a 240v immersion water heater. 

Opposite the galley to starboard lies the quarter berth. The upholstery throughout the Moody 30 boasts a pleasing grey velour. For comfort, there's an Eberspaecher D2 diesel cabin heater equipped with a timer. There is a TV/DVD player with a Glomex Ariel securely mounted on the mast, ensuring quality reception for enjoyable viewing experiences. 

Descending through the companionway reveals a spacious cockpit, impressively proportioned considering the yacht's size, offering seating for up to six individuals and ample storage within a deep lockers.  

The yacht has Wheel steering enhancing the sailing experience with its direct control. Instrumentation within the cockpit includes essentials such as a compass, depth gauge, wind direction indicator, and speed log, ensuring navigation and monitoring capabilities are at hand. History & Construction:

Debuting in 1975 and staying in production for four years, the Moody 30, with approximately 150 units sold shares the hallmark high-volume hull design with markedly flared bows, characteristic of all Angus Primrose-designed Moody ranging from 27 to 40 feet. The interior features predominantly wood-effect plastic laminate, with genuine teak trim throughout. 

Manufactured by Marine Projects Ltd in Plymouth, this 1977 Moody 30 showcases a white GRP hull with a red hull strip, while the decks feature non-slip surfaces for safety. Sporting a steel fin keel and wheel steering controlled by a skeg rudder, it boasts a self-draining cockpit for added convenience. 

Last  out of the water in July 2023, when this Moody 30 underwent essential maintenance, including antifouling, replacement of anodes, and hull polishing. The owner is only selling as he is retiring from sailing. A copy a 2018 survey report is available upon request.

The Moody 30 features a masthead sloop rig, with a deck-stepped Proctor aluminium mast and boom, stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2017. It has a Furlex 200s furling headsail system and a slab reefing mainsail, complemented by lazy jacks for added convenience.

This Moody 30 is a single 28HP Volvo Penta MD11C diesel engine with a sail drive to a two-bladed fixed aluminium propeller.  The engine has been regularly maintained by the owner, the engine was last serviced in July 2023, while the boat was last ashore. The engine is fitted with Morse controls. It has a 100-litre steel fuel tank,

Electrical systems:

The Moody 30 is equipped with two 12-volt batteries, one for engine starting and the other for domestic use. These batteries are charged both by the engine alternator and a 240-volt battery charger, ensuring reliable power availability. It has Victron Energy Blue Smart battery management system. Additionally, the vessel features a 240V shore power system ring main with an immersion heater.
