Moody 41 DS - panoramic view and innovative yacht design with saloon and cockpit on the same level. The boat can be controlled from inside the salon, where there is a 360 degree panoramic view.
The boat can be controlled from the port side in the saloon, and when the large sliding doors are closed, you can easily keep the heat under all conditions, otherwise the built-in oil boiler will be happy to help.
Self-tacking jib
The shipyard in Greifswald has designed the boat with a self-tacking jib, which does not need to be adjusted on the laps when turning the stays, so it is suitable for singhand sailing.
All the boat's halyards and sheets run at the same time from the mast below the deck directly down to two electric winches from Harken, which make hauling the mainsail out from the furling mast from Seldén a breeze. The bulkhead is mounted on the fixed roof so that no one can be hit by the bulkhead while sailing.
Down in the cockpit, the jib and mainsail are controlled with electric winches. The German Moody, which is the smallest in the Moody series, is different in several ways, for example you are well protected from the wind, as on a motorboat there is a large saloon right in front, and the cockpit is deep with a high backrest.
The cockpit benches are around 1.80 meters long and can therefore be used as sunbeds. If that is not enough, you have to go forward in front of the mast, where there is a definite sunbed. Up in the bow there is also a sofa with cushions, which is well thought out.
Large forward berth and side berth for guests
To sleep, you have to go down a few steps into the cabin itself. At the very front there is a large cabin with lots of natural light from hull windows and skylights. Here it is lavish with cupboard and drawer space, which I have rarely seen in a 41-foot sailboat.
Further back on the starboard side is a wide guest cabin with two separate berths. There is also light from hull windows. Moody 41 DS also has two spacious toilets with a separate bath in the luxury class.
On the starboard side, the salon offers a large seating area, which is located upstairs, so you are absolutely sure of an unobstructed view when you sit and eat. On the starboard side there is a stove, freezer and double sink. Forward on the starboard side, there is also a navigation platform from which you can also steer the boat in bad weather.
The boat has been nominated for European Yacht of the Year 2021 by the European boat magazines.
