1973 Nicholson 32 MK10. One of the most successful designs by Camper and Nicholsons and in production over a 20 year period. The 32 has a fantastic reputation as a safe and capable passage-maker with numerous ocean crossings and circumnavigations completed. "Rhythm II" is in exceptional condition for her age, having been lovingly cared for by the current owner of 33 years.
Construction:
GRP construction and hugely over-engineered by modern standards, the 32 is a very robust vessel. Long keel (1.68m draft) with keel mounted rudder and wheel steering. Stainless davits for tender carriage.
Mechanicals:
Powered by a Ford based Panther 30hp diesel with shaft driven 2 bladed propeller. 2 x 12V batteries for engine start and service power, these charging via the engine and a wind generator. Shore power connection fitted.
Rigging and Spars:
Bermudan Sloop with keel stepped alloy mast and spars. Boom roller furling Mainsail and roller furling foresails. Mainsail, Genoa and working Jib, all said to be in "very good condition".
Accommodation:
There is accommodation of for up 5 crew with V berth singles in the bow, a double berth conversion and an additional single in the saloon. Galley to port with gas oven, hob and grill, cool box, sink with manual pumped fresh and sea water, storage. Chart table to port with electronics. Central dining table with 2 folding leaves. The cabin has Webasto diesel heating as well as a Taylors paraffin stove. The interior has been kept in excellent condition.
