Remarks :
These rare, classic, pocket rockets don't come up very often, and looking at this one I don't expect for it to be for sale for very long. She is a very original Albatross Mk3, with the Ford 100E 39hp petrol engine. Direct drive, and a true thoroughbred sports boat.
Her original corrosion resistant magnesium alloy hull is in lovely condition. These boats were built after WW2 using expertly rivetted aircraft grade aluminum, birmabright.
Her paintwork is good, and her engine looks to have been well maintained over the years. Upholstery is also in good shape, as well as her basic dashboard.
Last run 3 years ago, we see no reason why she would not start. However, she is being sold needing a service and check over. Her trailer needs new tyres before she is moved.
Anyone who knows these boats, knows how much fun they are and how simple they are to own. Owners extend to Prince Phillip, Brigitte Bardot, Aristotle Onassis, Prince Rainer of Monaco, Grace Kelly, George Formby, Jon Pertwee, Lord and Lady Docker, Price Bira and Prince Constantine or Greece.
Sadly, many have a been lost over the years. However this one has many years of life left for a new owner to enjoy and immerse themselves in its heritage.
