Hunter yachts pack a lot of accommodation into their boats and the legend 280 is no exception. Space for up to 6 with a large aft berth and open plan saloon and V berth. A full cockpit enclosure adds a great extra covered area and makes year round use a practical option.
Construction:
GRP construction throughout with white gelcoat finish. Fin keel (1.52m draft), spade rudder with wheel steering.
Mechanicals:
Powered by a Yanmar 2GM20 - 18hp inboard diesel with shaft driven propeller. The engine cover can be removed to give excellent access for maintenance. 2 x 12V batteries provide engine start and service power, these charging via the engine and a solar charger.
Rigging and sails:
Fractional rig Bermudan Sloop with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging. Slab reefing Mainsail with lazy Jack Bag and roller furling Genoa. Both sails are said to be in "very good condition".
Accommodation:
Room for up to 6 in open plan accommodation. There is a large double berth aft accessed from behind the galley, a convertible saloon double using the table as a fill-in and a small V berth double up front. The galley has a gas oven with hob and grill, sink with pressurised hot and cold water, ice box and storage. The head compartment has a macerator sea toilet with holding tank, sink and shower. diesel blown air heating and the full cockpit enclosure make year round use a practical option. Shore power connection allows use of main appliances.
