Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised B – “Offshore”

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Massive close-welded Sealium (ultra corrosion-resistant alloy from Pechiney) deep-vee hull, deck & Sealium superstructure (build photographs readily available).
  • 14MM teak laid cockpit, seating tops and aft deck.
  • Companionway doors.
  • Hull, deck and superstructure in Silver AwlGrip paint.
  • Ultrasonic antifouling system fitted (but conventional antifouling also applied each season).

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • Twin Seatek Navy 660hp 10.3 litre inline 6-cylinder diesel engines.
  • Water-cooled turbo-chargers with charge air coolers.
  • Polished chromed steel ZF Micro Commander electronic controls at helm station (2023).
  • The engines are flexibly mounted and have a seawater filter to each engine, with raw water-cooling (converted 2022), and are fuelled via Racor fuel filters.
  • Seatektronic San Giorgio S.E.I.N. engine management system (monitors RPM/coolant temperature/oil temperature/oil pressure/gearbox oil pressure/raw water pressure/exhaust gas temperature.
  • VDO analogue gauges for engine RPM, coolant temperature and oil pressure.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • The engines have been regularly maintained, showing c. 200 hours run at November 2023 (Please note: dials may indicate incorrectly - having been changed some time ago).
  • Cruising Speed: 45 knots.
  • Maximum Speed: 50 knots at 3100rpm.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Hydraulic steering to twin stainless rudders.
  • ZF 305-A gearboxes.
  • Stainless steel type 2000 Trimax drives driving surface-piercing 5-bladed SBM NiBrAl propellers.

  • 24-volt ships system, with 12V outlets as required and 240-volt shore system.

  • AC/DC panel located to port of cabin access.

  • 12V batteries wired to 24V for isolated engine start circuit (new 2023).
  • 12V batteries wired to 24V for isolated house circuit from port battery only (new 2023).
  • Sealed and vented battery boxes, with battery link switch for parallel at the console.
  • BEP Matrix 24V DC digital battery monitor.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • 24V automatic battery charger (located under cabin companionway).

 

Alternators:

  • 24V alternator fitted to each engine.

 

Shore Power:

  • Shore power (socket to transom), with 240V shore power lead.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Fresh water approximately 26 Imperial Gallons (120 litres).
  • Pressurised fresh water to heads basin.
  • Pressurised freshwater wash shower to transom.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • 2 x electric diaphragm bilge pumps with automatic switches.
  • Manifold system under cabin sole.
  • One manual bilge pump to cockpit with handle stowed aft.
  • Ultra Safety High Level electric bilge audible alarm at helm with Test/Mute.
  • Engine cooling system can be diverted to pump from engine bilge in emergency.

Tankage

  • Analogue VDO sweep tank gauges to both fuel tanks, and fresh water tank, with on-deck fillers.

 

Fuel:

  • 220 Imperial gallons (1000 litres) capacity approx. in two tanks.

 

Fresh Water:

  • 26 Imperial gallons (120 litres) capacity.
