Or remove the partition to make for the master cabin forward and it would be perfect for a family of 4. Whether you are a seasoned sailor or a cruising enthusiast, you will appreciate the many features that make for a comfortable and convenient life on the water. The innovative, well-appointed interior makes living aboard for long periods an alluring option. It has the feel of a hand-crafted yacht in which the care of craftsmen still dictates the structure and finish of every detail.

Dark n Stormy (DnS) is well outfitted for an easy life on the water with many upgrades and maintenance in 2021/22. High output solar panels connected to 2 lithium batteries and a water maker on board the boat solves problems of power and water supply and minimizes the time needed to be spent in marinas. The solar panels rest upon a custom built durable stainless steel arch which also comfortably holds the dinghy in place during sailing. Electric windlass for the anchor and electric winch for the main halyard makes for an easy and enjoyable cruising experience.

Vessel history:

The boat was purchased new in 2000 by a German couple who had it for 19 years. They took great care of the boat. The second owner, an Austrian/Spanish guy, bought the boat off them in 2019 and made a number of extensive upgrades to make for comfortable cruising including a new electrical system, the custom heavy duty SS solar/dinghy davit arch and the new flexiteak on the decks. He sailed the vessel around Barcelona and made some longer trips throughout the Mediterranean and down to the Canary Islands until the current owners picked up the vessel last fall.

Instead of waiting until they retire to set off on an adventure, the current owners are three best friends that went in on the vessel with a single purpose; to sail across the Atlantic and around the Caribbean. They managed to do just that! They all took 6 months off work and made some everlasting memories on their journey. It has finally come to an end and it is time to find the new owner to carry on Dark' n Stormy's adventures!

Dark'n Stormy  is EU VAT PAID and currently on the hard and already located in one of the best cruising destinations in the world and the epicenter of the marine industry in the Virgin Islands, at Nanny Cay Marina, Tortola BVI. Contact Chesnee Cogswell with BVI Yacht Sales today for more information or to schedule a showing. The vessel is turn key and ready to go cruising NOW!

Damage/Repair disclosure

There was an issue when the boatyard chaulked up the vessel causing the trailing edge of the keel to depress into the hull. Not breaking into the fiberglass but rather creating a depression aft of the keel. We also found cracking in the tabbing of the grid structure that led us to believe it may be a combination of a weakened grid structure and the unfortunate situation with the yard. Full disclosure and photos available upon request.

The sellers went ahead and hired Hirst Marine Surveyors to inspect the damage. The damage assessment survey is available as well as one from when they purchased the vessel in 2022. The surveyor is under the impression that the core material of the ribs may be jeopardized. We drilled into it and that seemed to be the case.

The owners of the vessel have since hired a professional marine contractor here at Nanny Cay Boatyard to undertake the job. They opened up the ribs and removed any core material that was not solid and filled them with silica and slow curing epoxy to ensure the resin penetrated any voids and guaranteeing its structural integrity. They also applied new tabbing for the ribs to further insure its structural integrity. New gelcoat applied to the areas with new tabbing and even fresh bottom paint. She is looking great and we are very confident she will pass a marine surveyors inspection with no troubles at all. Seller will even guarantee this to a buyer!
