Angler's Edge Marine is owned and operated by Robert C. Filger. Filger has spent the past 25 years developing his knowledge of the marine industry through various sales and management positions as well as his passion for fishing. Filger started his career in 1991 at Wilderness Canoe Trips, Inc. (WCT), a livery operation in Wilmington, DE owned by his mentor Jay D. Poole. After years of building knowledge of small watercraft, Filger created and operated the sales department resulting in the 2000 Canoe and Kayak Dealer of the Year Award. After seven years of dedicated service to WCT, Filger moved north to become General Manager of The Hopatcong Boathouse, LLC where he handled products including Crestliner, Twin Vee, Nordic, Yamaha, Nissan, and Suzuki outboards as well as other small watercraft.
Filger oversaw all aspects of business operations including sales, repair, installation of motors and electronics, website management and marketing. Filger doubled the profits from 2001 to 2002. In 2005, Filger acquired the Tracker dealership. In seven months time The Hopatcong Boathouse, with Filger as the sole salesperson making over 100 powerboat sales, won the TMFS New Dealer of the Year Award. After years of serving other employers in the marine industry Filger has ventured into business for himself. The rest is history!
