The Morris 46 is a rare find. Designed by Chuck Paine and built in the USA to semi-custom standards, she’s an offshore cruiser that combines traditional craftsmanship, strong performance, and timeless good looks. This 1997 model has been continuously upgraded and is ready for serious passagemaking.
Key upgrades include a new Yanmar engine (2023), a carbon GMT mast, updated rigging (2020–2025), and modern navigation and power systems. Her GRP hull was professionally Awlgrip-painted in 2020. With a skeg-hung rudder and deep lead keel, she tracks well and handles confidently offshore.
The cutter rig is both practical and versatile, with sails by Challenge Fastnet. Lewmar winches, a Side-Power bow thruster, and an electric windlass simplify handling. Meanwhile, the power setup includes a Northern Lights generator, solar panels, Victron AGM batteries, and both 110V and 220V systems—ensuring full autonomy.
Below deck, the warm cherry interior follows the classic Herreshoff style. The forward cabin offers a spacious V-berth with plenty of storage.
