LM Mermaid 380 – Well-equipped and rarely offered Danish-built sailing yacht
The LM Mermaid 380 is a solid Danish-built sailing yacht that is rarely seen on the market. Only 10 examples of this model were ever built, and this is no. 9. The boat was built in 1989 and launched for the first time in 1991.
The yacht is equipped with a furling mainsail with Sailtainer in-boom furling system, furling genoa, and furling gennaker. All halyards are led to the cockpit, making the boat easy to handle and well suited for single-handed sailing. Manoeuvring is further facilitated by wheel steering with autopilot, bow thruster, and electric anchor windlass.
The cockpit is fitted with a fixed windscreen, sprayhood, bimini, and full cockpit enclosure, providing excellent protection from wind and weather as well as shade.
The boat has been continuously maintained and prepared annually with oil changes, replacement of filters, impeller, zinc anodes, drive oil, and antifouling. The hull was epoxy treated in 2018.
Below deck, there is a large and bright saloon with longitudinal settees on both sides, both of which can be converted into berths. The starboard settee can be arranged as a double berth. A 32” Smart TV (2014) is installed in the saloon.
The galley is L-shaped and includes a cool box, refrigerator drawer, double sink, and ample storage space. Opposite the galley is the navigation station with a good working area and extensive storage in cabinets and drawers.
The LM Mermaid 380 was the flagship model from LM in Lunderskov, which among other things meant that it was delivered as standard with Royal Copenhagen porcelain. This original porcelain is still intact on board.
Aft, there is a large double aft cabin. In the passageway towards the forepeak, there is a wardrobe on the port side and a toilet with shower on the starboard side. The forepeak is fitted with a double berth, which was converted to full width in 2018.
The boat has been continuously updated and improved, including:
All seacocks, through-hull fittings, and hoses replaced with composite Trudesign (2016)
Hull epoxy treated in 2018, during which the rudder was removed (International VC Tar2 / VC17M)
Electrical wiring replaced, including new charger, battery separator relay, etc. (2017)
All batteries replaced with AGM batteries (2016)
All navigation lights replaced with LED (2018)
Mast wiring replaced and new VHF and AIS antennas installed (2018)
Teak deck renovated with new caulking (2017)
The LM Mermaid 380 is an exceptionally solid and well-sailing yacht that transports her crew safely and comfortably from place to place. She is suitable both for weekend and holiday cruising with the family as well as for longer voyages.
