The Westerly Centaur is one of the most popular British yachts ever built-some 2,500 were built between 1969 and1984. Strong build and plenty of head room. This bilge keel yacht is ideal for East Coast cruising. This yacht does require work and is being sold as seen. The owner is open to reasonable offers for a quick sale. 
Accommodation :

The Forecabin of the Westerly Centaur has twin-berths with an infill to make into a double.

There is a heads compartment to starboard with a marine toilet.  Galley is to starboard with a 2 burner gas hob & grill on gimbals, sink and lockers There is a cool box under the seat aft of galley.

The Saloon-dinette is to port  with the table converting to a double berth.  There is also a single quarter berth single to port  .

There is companionway access to engine with cockpit access to gearbox, stuffing box & fuel tank There is a Lazarette locker aft with gas stowage to port. Transom bathing ladder

History & Construction 

Built by Westerly this Centaur has a white GRP hull, deck and superstructure with blue painted non-slip decks. Main of the internal vinyl headings have been removed.  This yacht was purchase around October 2022. Unfortunately the owner has past away and not much is know of its history or when it was last out of the water.

Sails and Rigging:

The Westerly Centaur has a Bermudan sloop masthead rig with deck stepped alloy mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging age unknown .Slab reefing mainsail with furling headsail.

  • Mainsail, Dacron condition fair
  • Genoa, Dacron condition fair
Mechanical Systems:

This yacht has a Yanmar 1GM Diesel engine ,direct cooling ,shaft driven to a fixed 2 bladed propeller. Morse control in cockpit. Single steel fuel tank 45L, cruising speed of 5 knots and maximum speed of 6 knots. It is not known when the engine was last serviced

Electrical Systems:

2 x 12v Batteries .1 domestic,1 engine .all charged by engine alternator .When sailing there is a solar panel and wind generator fitted to keep batteries charged. There is also a shore power system ,ring main and battery charger .
