The POINTER 25 is built in The Netherlands by the Jachtwerf Heeg BV. The Heeg yard instructed world famous yacht designers, Van de Stadt, to come up with an elegant and modular yacht which attracts sporty sailors who are looking for an overnight stay aboard. Their design of the new 25 foot POINTER immediately won both plaudits and awards, including the Dutch Yacht Of The Year!
A quick look at the sleek contemporary hull lines of the POINTER 25 tell you that this small yacht is about real sailing pleasure. The low freeboard and low weight combine to create outstanding performance under sail. A fat head mainsail, a jib with an under-deck furler and a pre balanced rudder help to produce the complete enjoyment package. The fin keel with bulb carries a generous amount of ballast, making the POINTER 25 a very stiff boat with go anywhere appeal – even off-shore cruising thanks to a CE category of ‘B’. Yet, two different keel options, a shoal draft 1.1m and a deeper 1.5m draft, enable this yacht to be customised to your sailing area. Other options include a self-tacking jib for shorthanded sailing as well as a range of easily manageable downwind sails flown off a purpose fitted bowsprit.
Below deck the POINTER 25 is appointed as a real sailer’s boat. No stateroom accomodation here. Instead, the yacht offers a compact yet comfortable cabin with plenty of natural light from the large windows. A good size (2.1m long) v-berth and two (2.1m) saloonberths can easily accomodate a family of 4. The cabin can be customised in a variety of interior colour patterns. Other options to enhance comfort below deck include a galley unit, a marine heads, clever storage solutions and, even cabin heating.
With such an array of options to choose from, including inboard diesel or electric propulsion, a swim platform and a range of boom tents, this boat can be made to suit a variety of tastes.
