Fulvia is one of only twelve King Falcon 33 TSMYs to have been custom-built by William Osborne (the renowned lifeboat builder) and are highly sought after thanks to their classic lines and spacious accommodation. They also make a great, highly capable and seaworthy alternative to the classic Fairey Swordsman, Weymouth or Freeman 32 cruisers. Her engines have undergone complete rebuilds in recent years. Diesel powered cruisers suitable for sea and river work of this size and quality rarely come along at this price!

Accommodation

This King Falcon 33 has a unique layout which currently offers four/five berths in three cabins with good headroom throughout. FORECABIN: Permanent double V berth (this could be converted back to two single berths with an infill if required), storage in lockers and beneath berths and deck hatch. New forecabin berth upholstery 2019. HEADS COMPARTMENT: Located to starboard and fitted with a Jabsco marine toilet, washbasin, shower and stowage. GALLEY: An L-shaped galley forward to port equipped with a Voyager 4500 two burner gas stove with grill and oven (new 2019), stainless steel sink and plenty of stowage in various lockers and cupboards. Cutlery, crockery and cookware included. The gas system and cooker were replaced and certified in 2019/20. SALOON: Consisting of a large storage unit with fitted Waeco 12/240V marine fridge and two chairs with L-shaped dining area and bespoke central table with folding leaves opposite. Additional storage is also provided beneath and around the dining area including a large drinks cabinet and various additional racks and shelves. WHEELHOUSE: Helm position with adjustable and removable bucket seat to port, navigator seat with chart storage to starboard and additional seating to aft of cockpit. AFT CABIN: Currently in its original configuration of two good single berths with a storage unit between, which could be altered to form a reasonable size double if her new owners preferred. En suite heads compartment with marine toilet and washbasin. The interior is light and airy with excellent ventilation and is in good condition throughout with beige upholstery (new 2015) in both sleeping cabins and maroon velour upholstery in the saloon. Maroon curtains throughout. She has a pressurised water system providing hot and cold water to both heads and the galley via a calorifier. A diesel fired heater (new 2018 with dedicated battery and charger) provides warm air heating to all cabins and shorepower has been installed along with a Glomex TV aerial.

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the wheelhouse sole, twin Perkins 6354 Turbo 145hp, six cylinder, marine diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Single lever engine controls. 24V electric start. Hydraulic wheel steering to twin bronze rudders. Shaft drive via bronze P-brackets to twin four-blade bronze propellers. Spare set of propellers. Remote control trim tabs (new 2009). Full engine instrumentation. Her owner has found them to offer economic cruising, consuming approximately 20 litres per hour at around 8-10kts. Fulvia II had a complete engine rebuild in August 2019 which included both engines having a nut and bolt rebuild, including head reworks new injectors and injector pumps have been serviced. The blocks have both been lined and bored to return them to manufacturer's spec., both cranks have been polished and measured, and big ends and mains have been replaced along with thrust washers. One engine has had new pistons, one engine's pistons were within manufacturer's tolerance. Camshaft bushing was all within manufacturer's tolerance and only required a polish. Engine water pumps were both changed, as were the header/ heat exchangers, inter coolers were all been replaced 2022. Turbos have also both been changed in 2019/20. All but one of the oil coolers have been changed in 2019/20. Both alternators have been changed for modern regulator type. Both 24v starters have been rebuilt. The engine bay has been completely redone with new fire and sound lagging. All heavy duty cables and batteries have been replaced with new isolators.

Electrical Systems

6 x 12V batteries arranged in 24V banks (4 x domestic new Nov 2018, 2 x engine start new June 2019) charged via engine alternators. Separate 12V battery for heating system with battery charger. Shorepower system with ring mains and Sterling Procharge 24v 20amp battery charger. 12V and 24V accessory outlets. Screen demister fan. Full cabin lighting.

    The Osborne King Falcon 33 was built in 1975 by William Osborne Ltd., Littlehampton to their own design. White GRP semi-displacement hull with styling stripes and spray chines. Light blue GRP coachroof with blue Treadmaster decks and blue painted non-slip surfaces to the sheathed cabin and wheelhouse roofs. Teak rubbing strakes. Aluminium framed windows. The hull was professionally stripped and epoxy treated in 2009 and had new propellers, shafts and rudders installed in 2010.
