The Mitchell / Bill Smith Boatbuilder 22 Sea Angler, a meticulously crafted custom-built vessel, stretches 6.71 metres in length with a beam of 2.61 metres. Constructed in 1989, the boat showcases a solid varnished teak and professionally designed superstructure by Marine Architect Sandy Balfour, fitted on an established Mitchell 22 Sea Angler hull with iroko bilge keels. Initially tailored for coastal fishing and estuary-hopping in the Solent, it features a comfortable forward cabin with twin bunks, a starboard-positioned galley with a two-burner hob, and a port-side heads with a chemical toilet and stainless steel sink. "Green Parrot" also boasts a spacious cockpit with water-resistant upholstery, partially shielded by a hardtop and a pram-style hood, alongside outstanding visibility provided by the solid wheelhouse. Powered by a Perkins 50hp diesel inboard engine, this versatile vessel continues to convey its coastal heritage on the upper Thames.
Custom-built superstructure built largely of solid varnished teak and internal fit-out by Bill Smith (Shipwright of Lymington) to a design by Marine Architect Sandy Balfour, on a Mitchell 22 Sea Angler hull with iroko bilge keels. Originally designed for coastal fishing and estuary-hopping around the Solent, "Green Parrot" was relocated to the upper Thames in 1994.
2x bunks in a v-arrangement reaching into the bow with opening roof hatch and side windows; there is also storage shelves and some under bunk storage; 12v lighting and opening bulkhead door.
Set to starboard featuring a 2-burner hob with grill, burns Butane gas positioned in a watertight hatch in the stern locker with storage locker beneath; ventilation and fire blanket.
Situated opposite the galley to port featuring a porta potti 165 chemical toilet, large s/s sink which also serves the galley, H&C mixer tap and extending shower head; there is some locker and shelving space in this area plus a cabin window.
A wide and open area, half covered by the hard top of the wheelhouse; the remainder of the cockpit is covered with a 3-piece pram-style hood, furnished with water resistant upholstery and providing a good deal of space for comfortable entertaining; a portable 24/12v fridge is built into the cockpit seating arrangement; the solid wheelhouse has large forward and side screens, giving fantastic visibility.
