The Maxi 1000 is a superb cruising yacht and comes from the design board of Pelle Petterson so is also a capable cruiser-racer. Lyrebird is set up for short handed sailing with a self tacking, roller furling headsail and mainsail with stack pack, but also benefits from a suit of performance sails.

The Maxi 1000 is a modern aft-cockpit fast cruiser with a particularly easy to handle fractional rig, and a self-tacking staysail for "cruising mode". The interior is nicely finished in cherrywood.
