This Dutch barge built circa 1956 offers four berths across three cabins.  “Mariette” is a durable, displacement barge perfect rt for adventures. “Mariette” has been well maintained by the current owner over the last 5 years and a copy of the 2018 survey report is available for anyone viewing the vessel

The classic Dutch barge " Mariette” is equipped with a Webasto cabin heater, an LPG hot water system, and has a 200-litre freshwater capacity, making her ideal for long-distance cruising, or a holiday retreat.

Accommodation :

The forward saloon offers a settee to port that can easily convert to a double berth, with under-seat storage, to starboard your find a large shelf with storage cupboards moving along to a hanging storage cupboard with a wall mounted TV. This area offers two forward facing and two side facing windows to both port and starboard allowing great natural light. Additional storage can be found in the forepeak.

Opposite the hanging storage on the starboard side is the heads compartment, which includes a Chemical toilet, mixer shower with shower attachment and an in-built shower tray. This shower is equipped with pressurized hot and cold water.

Ascending to the Wheelhouse saloon it offers great visibility through two large forward-facing windscreen’s, four large side windows, and two rear facing windows giving great visibility when sat on the Helm. Two companion way sliding doors offer great access to both the port and starboard deck.

The helm position is located on the port side of the wheelhouse, with wheel steering, engine controls, depth gauge, and wind speed & direction indicator. To the starboard side opposite the helm is the galley, equipped with a 2-burner gas hob and electric combi oven and microwave, fridge, cupboard storage, and a single stainless-steel sink with pressurized water heated by the LPG water heater.

The Wheelhouse also offers bench seating to starboard that converts into a double berth. The Wheelhouse provides easy access to the Mercedes Marine 70HP Diesel engine.

The aft cabin offers a double berth with underberth storage with additional storage above the berth. The aft cabin also boasts windows to both port and starboard with an opening deck hatch above the berth allowing for natural light.

The Vessel also benefits from a TV, Radio/ CD Player, a Webasto cabin heater, an LPG hot water system and an external helm position on the aft deck with engine controls and steering wheel.

This classic barge “Mariette” is powered by a four cylinder, 70hp Mercedes Marine diesel engine, propelling a shaft driven three-bladed propeller. Fuel is supplied by two large 400 litre steel tanks. This vessel is also fitted with a bow thruster for easy manoeuvring.

The Mercedes Marine engine was last serviced by Gillingham Marina, the current engine hours are unknown.  This vessel has a cruising speed of approximately 5 knots and maximum speeds of approximately 8 knots.

Electrical Systems:

The vessel is equipped with 3 x 12-volt batteries (1 x engine battery, 1 x domestic battery, and 1 x bow thruster battery) all of which were replaced in 2023.

These batteries are charged via the alternator and a battery charger when connected to the 240V mains. Additionally, the vessel benefits from a 240-volt ring main system.
