The Andrews Boats 30, named "Romani," is a classic vessel currently for sale in Marlow, United Kingdom. With an overall length of 9.14 meters and a beam of 1.98 meters, this boat was originally commissioned on August 8, 1935, and features a distinctive flatter bottom design. Known as "BLUE FLASH" by its first owner Denis O’Bryan, it was later renamed "ROMANI" when gifted to Diana Nicholas in 1961. This vessel underwent several restorations, the most recent by Andrews Boathouses to achieve a concours standard. Characterized by its British racing green painted mahogany hull and Sapele and Iroko decking, "Romani" is propelled by a Ford Water Mota engine and features helm and stern bench seating upholstered in cream marine leather. This historically significant boat is available for viewing by appointment only.
Romani is an example of a more unusual flatter bottomed boat. Commissioned in August 8th 1935 first purchased by Denis O’Bryan (solicitor) and named ‘BLUE FLASH’, she was kept at Wargrave from 1947. November 20th 1961 purchased by Air Cdre. Bryan David Nicholas (RAF rtd.) who gifted her to his daughter, Diana Nicholas, for her 21st birthday and renamed her ‘ROMANI’.1971/2 restored by Andrews of Bourne End and maintained by them until 1982.
1982/3 restored by D B Marine of Cookham.
2019 Marlow Boat services February 2022 purchased by Andrews Boathouses who embarked on a comprehensive restoration which is now in the final stages to ensure a concours standard.
