Donzi Marine is a celebrated boat manufacturer founded in 1964 in Miami, Florida, by Don Aronow, a noted designer and racer of speedboats. The company was named "Donzi" to mimic Aronow's nickname “Donny” while simultaneously projecting a hint of Italian flair. Aronow received acclaim for his excellent design that fused speed, elegant Twin Bertram Moppie luxury, and open ocean endurance. The first fleet of Donzi boats included three models: the Ski-Sporter, the Sweet 16, and the 28-foot Sportsman that enjoyed enormous popularity among the boat racing community. Notably, the Ski-Sporter in 1965 earned the title of "Boat of the Year" from the Boating Industry.
Throughout its history, Donzi Marine changed hands many times and shifted its headquarters occasionally. In 1987, the company transferred to OMC (Outboard Marine Corporation), which continued the company's mission to produce high-performance boats. Later, American Marine Holdings, the parent company of Pro-Line Boats, acquired Donzi Marine in 1993.
As it stands today, Donzi Classic, a division of the iconic Baja Marine, owns and operates Donzi Marine. Since 2019, the headquarters of Donzi Marine is in Sarasota, Florida. With over 50 years of boat building experience, the Donzi Marine brand still retains its reputation for quality, performance, and dynamic design ideology. The latest 41GTZ model remains a show stopper in the industry, demonstrating Donzi's unbroken tradition of innovation and unmatched craftsmanship.
