This Dual Helm Trawler has been through a complete mechanical,electrical and plumbing refurbish. Powered by a Perkins 135 HP diesel with aft thruster, A/C, GENERATOR, and Dual pilot stations she makes a GREAT LIVEABOARD.The engine, transmission, Prop shaft and Prop are all fresh complete rebuilds with less than 20 hours since.The engine is not even broken in yet. The fuel tanks are less than 2 years old, the fresh water tanks have been removed and repaired and all new plumbing.The main service feeds for the shore power and D/C system have been re-wired.The fresh water pumps have been redone.
Performance
With it's dependable Lehman 135 HP Marine Diesel engineshe cruises comfortably at 9 knotstop speed of 10 knots in smooth water.With a fuel capacity of 200 gallons the Senator 21 has a cruising range of 800 nautical miles.
Construction and Materials
The Senator is built under supervision and certification of the American Bureau of Shipping to conform to Australian Maritime Services Board Requirements. Hull construction is of solid fiberglass laminate of 1 1/2 oz Mat and 24 oz Woven Roving well in excess of Lloyd's requirement. All stringers and bulkheads are heavily bonded to the hull to provide a massive structure for a yacht this size. The superstructure is of molded fiberglass laminate as a one-piece watertight unit.
The all teak interior is hand-crafted and finely finished.All decks, including flybridge, aft cabin top, and side decks are of solid teak planking laid in thiokol over fiberglass. Hardware and fittings are either bronze or stainless. Cabin windows are of smoked safety plate, cabin sole sare beautifully finished in teak parquet.
Accommodations
The well thought out accommodation plan is exceptionally complete and has been designed to satisfy all requirements of a cruising yacht from it's optional bimini top to the all teak swim platform just above the waterline and everything between.The toilet flows either to a holding tank or to an overboard discharge to satisfy all pertinent regulations. Opposite the head on the starboard side is a deep hanging lockerthat is larger than one would expect.
The salon will surprise you with it's efficiency and completeness. There is an "L" shaped galley with a three burner and oven stove, a deep stainless sink with hot and cold pressure water as well as a manual, foot-operated pump for either fresh water or salt water, a large Norcold 12-110 volt refrigerator, and considerable locker and drawer space. Just forward of the galley on the port side is a dinette that converts to a double berth. Forward of the lounge is the helmsman seat and instrumentation console above wit counter space to accommodate a total electronic system.
Forward on the upper deck is the flybridge with it's own steering station, engine controls, and instrumentation, and behind the helmsman and passenger seats is plenty of room for deck chairs and lounging.
Mechanical Features
Colr-coded electrical wiring and the CB protected distribution panel conforms to Underwriters Laboratory specificationsand the U.S. Government requirements. All plumbing is awaged copper tubing, and all through-hulls are heavy bronze seacock valves with double clamped hoses attached to them.
The engine is fully accessible, is fresh water cooled and equipped with fuelfilters, sea water strainer, and water cooled aqualift muffler.
The dual steering stations are hydraulic which provides for a smooth positive helm.The hydraulic system allows for a simple installation of any number of good auto-pilot systems
