This great value Gib’Sea 262 Cruiser is definitely one that you should see if you are looking for a spacious, affordable cruiser that sails very well and has a bright & welcoming cabin . Built in France in 1990, Gib’Sea yachts are known for being well built but still offering great affordability & Whimbrel does exactly that. Considered by many as a “Sailors Sailing Boat” the Gib’Sea 262 has the huge advantage of a lifting keel, meaning it can crawl into shallow creeks and rivers, where others can not and offers the option of cheaper, shallow moorings. This 262 has 6 berths, a practical layout & a powerful 20 HP Beta 20 engine that was fitted new in 2011. This boat is built for cruising and is very capable for a vessel of its size. Her previous Owners were knowledgeable and competent sailors whom have had many adventures and cruises onboard. However, they have decided the time has come to pass her on to New Custodians who will no doubt want to upgrade her with new kit including electronics as well as some cosmetic improvements, but having been re-engined, had new standing rigging and a recent engine overhaul, most of the big jobs have been done.
This is a boat that really has to be seen and viewed throughout to be appreciated. Whimbrel will make for a great starter boat for a family that wants the advantages of a family cruiser whilst still offering the opportunity for cheaper moorings and costs. Additionally, for those who enjoy spending time onboard, her cabin is a great place to be She is currently lying in Southampton.
