FASTCAT 445 GREEN MOTION built in basalt, carbon, Kevlar, and PVC foam with epoxy resin infusion and equipped with GREEN MOTION propulsion/generation system is the first fossil free sailing catamaran. At the helm of this sleek Lavranos design you will be amazed at the ease with which you can cruise along in the mid to high teens. When the Motogens* are retracted the drag decreases and the actual sailing speed increases because no sail drives, props, prop shafts or shaft supports are in the flow of the water and the result is even less energy used.

FastCat 445 Green Motion World Cruiser has all equipment needed for luxury and comfortable cruising. For those who do like a sportier, lighter and more basic version of the FastCat 445 we developed the Sports Cruiser with all needed equipment for long distance cruising like autopilot, GPS, chart plotter, VHF, Tri Data instruments etc. FastCat 445 equipped with the retractable Green Motion system for propulsion and generation is the first fossil free sailing catamaran.

Design:
With a final length of 44 ft 7 inch or 13.6 meter and a waterline length that has been increased to 43 foot or 12.99 meter, FastCat 445 performs now even better than before. The waterline length is extended by lengthening the bow, all the way from below the water line to the top. This makes the entrance finer, down to a 10 mm radius. The finer bows’ entrance decreases resistance resulting in a higher speed. The bows have two safety bulkheads in case of hull penetrations. In the rear, the transom is extended to increase the diving platform to a length of 1.10 meters or 3 ft 8 inch and an extra buoyancy chamber is added here. We have increased the headroom to more than 2 meters inside.
Sideview
By raising the stronger thicker type of rub rail with 60 mm or 2.5 inches and the port-holes that have been moved below the rub rails FastCat 445 gives a sleeker and longer appearance. Optionally, 6 portholes can be placed per side instead of the standard 4. All this gives the cat a cleaner, more modern look and it greatly improves visibility.

Interior
A large saloon with the galley up and navigation station looking forward and a comfortable U-seat that easily accommodates 8 persons guarantee an easy live aboard. Two identical hulls with king sized beds (2.20 x 1.80 meters) and a well
equipped head with separate shower (optional) give plenty room for an owner’s couple and their guests or crew. With the optional 3-cabin version the starboard hull has a cabin in the front.

Underwater motor/generation unit. Available: 10-30 kW. Cable set Shielded cables to avoid electrical and magnetic fields.

4-channel controller needed to make power generation possible. This component is essential to have an optimal and efficient use of the Motogen*.
Control handle
Light weight single or twin control handle.
LCD-screen
Read-out of functional charge and discharge, motor rpm, motor and controller temperature and time-to-empty.
* Motogen: electric underwater motor that functions as generator when sailing and can be retracted when batteries are fully charged.
