What is a Cruiser?

A sailing cruiser is a type of yacht or sailboat that combines living space with the performance and features of cruising vessels. Generally, it has a large sail, intended for a voyage of a few days, sometimes up to weeks, in isolated areas and in different weather conditions. It often has an enclosed cockpit and a cabin, berth, and headroom for sleeping. A sail cruiser should also be capable of making long passages, so it will usually have a large fuel capacity and excellent safety features. They come in all lengths, from 30 feet up to 80 plus feet, and can range from basic, utilitarian boats to luxury vessels with all the comforts of home.

Which manufacturers build cruiser sail boats?

Manufacturers that produce cruiser sail boats include Beneteau, Bavaria, Jeanneau, Lagoon and Dufour.
