Brief History of Branta

Brought to Shepperton Marina by the first owner, Remained in Shepperton or the Thames And Kennet Marina until now. Used on the non tidal Thames, with two trips to St Katherines Dock.

Branta has no known faults!

Owners Notes

Note from the Owner

I bought Branta in 2020 and she has been cruised on the upper Thames to Oxford and the Tideway to St Katherines Dock .  Branta handles well and is a pleasure to pilot her, even in close quarters. Her engine has plenty of thrust and the large rudder turns her easily. She even steers in reverse.

Branta has a quality pedigree from the design and cut steel plates by Euroship Services in the Netherlands through to construction by Sirius Yachts and fit out by Sirius Marine Services. She was built under survey and inspection and with EU Construction certificate and tank pressure test certificates. She has a category C Certificate for navigation in coastal waters up to force 6 bf wind and 2 meter sea. Channel crossing is possible.  She is ballasted and stable. All paperwork and certificates are provided.

Safety and security were the priorities in the design.

Hull penetrations have been minimized.  The only penetrations being the main prop shaft fitted with a spare ceramic seal on the shaft to allow replacement without shaft removal, and the secondary sewage tank pump out via siphon bend but fitted with safety diaphragm on the sea valve  which is still intact.

There is no gas onboard, and cooking is all electric with induction hobs and electric oven. A 7kw generator allows  full use of these when the shore line is not available.

The deck has a full walk round, step free access, with high upstands and full handrails giving confidence to move fore and aft even in a seaway. Good for children too, when moored.

Flexible internal layout.

Branta has a Flexible accommodation and sociable layout. The Saloon table can seat 6, or more, people for eating and the large kitchen is adjacent  so no up and down stairs to prepare the table and serve food. The table can, however be relocated to the large cockpit in summer, if wished.

The cockpit canopy is in several removable panels to allow full protection or various stages of partial protection up to complete removal and folding onto the rudder base. Completely waterproof.

The main cabin has a King Size bed and good size en-suite bathroom. The snug/TV room/office is convertible to a private cabin with Queen Size bed, with door, and a second bathroom with shower whilst full saloon setting is still maintained for eating   It is unusual to find such facilities in a 15m boat.

Branta constantly receives compliments from passing boat owners and lock keepers alike
