Boat Overview
Stormer was designed by David Thomas and built by Marine Projects, Plymouth. Only about 30 Sigma 292's were constructed due to their high production costs, comparable to larger models like the Sigma 33, 36, 38, and 41. This modern-styled fast cruiser features a well-fitted and cleverly designed interior.
Accommodation
The accommodation of the Sigma 292 includes:
- Fore cabin with a vee berth that converts to a double
- Saloon with a single sofa berth to starboard and another sofa berth with a small pilot berth outboard and above to port
- Chart table that hinges down from the cabin side, to starboard, over the sofa
- Good-sized galley with a quarter berth tucked away behind
- Heads located to port, aft of the saloon, fitted with a sea toilet, wash basin, and wet locker
The saloon folds away onto the forward saloon bulkhead when not in use.
Condition
Stormer has been in dry storage for many years. Her hull and deck modules are completely dry. While she appears structurally sound throughout, she requires a deep clean, overhaul, and a clear out of the current owner's items. This is all reflected in the price.
Opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a pedigree boat at a very realistic price. Stormer would be equally suited for club racing or cruising the Scottish islands. She is an extremely versatile yacht with a high ballast ratio, making her less inclined to heel than equivalent-sized modern boats.
