Sandbanks Boat Show 2011- Success Achieved

The first Sandbanks Boat Show 2011 was successfully held at Salterns prestigious 5 Gold Anchor Marina on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May. This event attracted hundreds of visitors over both days; we estimate over 2,500 attended. With over 80 quality new products on the water, including a variety of luxury cruisers, sports craft, ribs, sailing boats and other complementary products, this was a perfect venue to showcase the marine industry at its best.

These included Sunseeker, Princess, Fairline, Targa, Boston Whaler, Jeanneau, Nimbus, Greenline, Beneteau, Goldfish Boat, Paragon, Pascoe, Windy, Williams, Sailtime and Searay, amongst other products including Marine Electronics, Marine Insurance, RNLI, Lloyds Property Group and Dawson’s Home Entertainment. Full exhibitor details can be found on the Sandbanks Boat Show website.

Russell Hayden, Salterns Brokerage said “Given the collapse of the Liverpool Boat Show at a very late stage, the decision was made to host a boat showhere and we were able to organise this event in a very short timescale, with good support and commitment from the exhibitors and the generous backing of Salterns Marina. We worked hard to make this show a success and provide the boating enthusiast with a great cross section of quality boating brands and products to choose from. We already know that boat sales have been achieved and aware that visitors travelled from as far as the north of England, London and even Russia. We could not have asked for a better result for the first year and all indications show that we will repeat the event next year”.

This unique event has been warmly welcomed by the marine industry, as it allows existing clients and introduces potential new customers the opportunity to look at an array of products at the beginning of the boating season in one location. This ‘boutique’ style boat show has been favoured in preference to other shows. Poole Harbour is a beautiful location and a mecca for boating enthusiasts; so to create a show here seems a natural choice. Many of the dealers and manufacturers are south coast based and being only a two day event makes this extremely convenient and cost effective.

The Sandbanks Boat Show now looks to be part of the boating calendar.

We look forward to welcoming you to Salterns any time soon.

“It is with great pleasure that I write to congratulate you all on an hugely successful inaugural Sandbanks Boat Show, which resulted in sales for us. Your planning, attention to the minutiae of detail and final execution was excellent. I am delighted for you all and certain that all your efforts will be rewarded within the specialised yachting and more so, in the general press. A great event that just shows what can be achieved with hard work and dedication- congratulations.

We will definitely be there next year! Thank you again.”

“The show had a great atmosphere, and was buzzing from start to finish despite the weather. It was a great opportunity to showcase our range in an area that has always been very important for Windy. We were very pleased with the interest and hope to be back next year”
