Layout and Equipment.
The interior layout of the Nantucket Island yacht is not only exquisite but very functional. Few sailing lots in this size can match the feeling one has below deck. The high freeboard and flush deck result in good headroom throughout the interior. Upon entering, one gets the feeling that you are aboard a much larger yacht. The interior space is very well thought out and comfortable. There is plenty of room for guests, as well as entertaining on board this fine yacht.
For long-distance bluewater cruising, there is nothing like an aft cabin master suite, with ample headroom and ventilation, to make the trip more enjoyable. Four opening ports provide great crossflow ventilation as well as the ability to peer outside and see what is going on to port, starboard and aft, a large opening deck hatch allows one to look up at the stars at night, while lying in the masters berth . This hatch also allows the warmer air to escape as it is replaced by the cooler air coming in through the open ports in the hull nearest to the cooler water. Four, 3-speed, 12 V fans provide additional circulation, installed near each port. A Mermaid heat pump provides both cool and hot air to the aft master suite area with its own thermostat control. This allows the captain or first mate to set the temperature independently from the forward heat pump in the V berth and salon area. There is also a settee adjacent to the master’s berth which provides a nice place to sit down while getting dressed, or to sprawl out in the privacy of the master’s suite and enjoy a good book. The settee can also provide a berth for a child to sleep next to their parents, or a comfy place for a short nap. Storage space is abundant in the master’s suite. Every square inch is utilized in this well thought out, comfortable and functional aft cabin. A large closet provides ample room to hang clothing which well ventilated.
Moving forward from the master suite is a large head located adjacent to the companionway between bulkheads. Two raised panel teak doors provide privacy. One closes off the amid ship area, the other closes off the aft cabin area. This area provides plenty of space for a couple to shower together if desired. Vacuflush heads provide worry free waste extraction. A monitor tells you how much waste is in the tank. Stainless Steel handrail provides safety in rough weather and an opening porthole provides ventilation.
Moving forward from the companionway, adjacent to the master suite head, you will find the navigation station to your right. Companionway steps with SS handrails lead up to the center cockpit area amid ship. To the left is the galley area.
The galley is much larger than one would expect on a yacht in this class. C shaped, the gallery sink faces aft. Both the sink and faucet have been recently upgraded. The sink is black granite and very deep. The faucet is euro style with the adjustable and extendable water spray head makes cleanup a breeze. Two overhead 60 LED lights provide plenty of light to the galley area. Two additional LED white/red lights can be utilized for additional lighting or preserving night vision during offshore passage making. Additional LED lighting near the galley sink does likewise. Refrigeration is a dual Sea Frost System with separate freezer which is larger than most refrigerators. The freezer has two plates, one on each side, which keeps internal temperatures cold enough to make ice and keep ice cream! The refrigerator is also quite large and runs cold enough to freeze water next to the single plate. The freezer and the refrigeration systems are independent of each other and quite efficient running on 12 V. If one fails, the other will keep functioning, meaning you will not lose 100% of your cooling capacity, only 50%, allowing you to preserve your food supply until repairs can be made. Spare parts and recharging system is included with the sale of this vessel.
Counter space is ample and adequate compared to many other yachts in this class. A Force 10, three burner gimbaled propane range with large oven provides the cook with the ability to prepare fine gourmet meals. A separate induction 120 V cooktop provides further cooking abilities and a back-up if you run out of propane. An automated LPG sensor provides safety shut off in the event of an LPG/propane leak. The galley is fully equipped with pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, cups and silverware which are included in the sale. A Kumma LPG grill is mounted on the aft of the vessel, with dual fiberglass LPG tanks.
Nearby is a large pantry built into the galley counter which provides ample storage for dry goods. A serving counter between the salon and the galley provides separation from the salon, as well as space to serve food. It is open and airy so the cook does not feel isolated.
Two opening portholes provide adequate ventilation in the Galley. A 3-speed, 12 V fan provides additional airflow at each porthole. The rear AC heat pump in the aft master suite also feeds hot or cool air into the galley area keeping it comfortable, whether you are in the tropics or the arctic. The AC heat pump in the forward VBerth also feeds hot or cool area into the salon as well, keeping it comfortable even while cooking. There are Stainless Steel handholds installed on the headliner and other areas to provide safety and a secure place to hang on to in rough weather and high seas.
Moving forward, located amidships is the salon area, which has two settees facing each other, on either side of the vessel. A large table is located near the center of this area, which has a foldable leaf which can be extended out toward the opposite settee. The Starboard settee area comfortably seats four people easily or six in a pinch. Extending the table leaf provides the ability for three to four more people to sit at this table and enjoy a meal, by utilizing the Port settee. This is an amazing yacht, providing ample space for entertaining below deck.
The table can also be lowered providing a berth for a couple to sleep quite comfortably. The adjacent settee also provides an additional birth for another adult or a couple of small children. Behind each settee are bookshelves and louvered cabinet doors with shelves inside for storing items. There are opening ports centrally located for cross ventilation. Two, three-speed fans which are 12 V assist in moving air in the salon. A large opening Lewmar deck hatch located above the salon area allows the rising warm air to escape. Nine LED dimmable spot lights with blue glowing night lights provide plenty of lights to the area, as well as warm blue glowing ambience at night. Two additional LED lights which are white/red can be utilized to preserve night vision during passage making or to provide additional lighting. Below the salon settee you will find the Xantrex Freedom 3000 watt inverter. There is also an Indel Webasto Isotemp Slim 20 L 120 V hot water heater which is also heated by the propulsion engine while under way. There are also through holes installed next to the water heater for the installation of a water maker. A stainless steel fresh water tank which carries 110 gallons of water is installed under the opposite settee. Stainless Steel handrails are installed on the headliner which provides something to hang onto in bad weather and high seas, as one moves from one end of the vessel to the other.
Moving forward to the V berth is a recessed, raised panel pocket door which slides into the forward bulkhead. This provides lockable privacy to the occupants in the V berth area. A separate head with shower provides additional comfort and privacy. A Vacuflush head alleviates the headaches associated with typical marine heads. Adjacent to the head is a hanging closet. A Mermaid heat pump/AC unit is installed in the upper part of this closet space which provides hot or cold air to the V berth area, as well as the salon. The V Berth is quite large and spacious with two, full length shelves on either side for storing gear. Hammocks are installed on either side with which to store clothes, allowing good airflow and preventing mildew buildup. Sail lockers are under the V berth. The Side Power SE80/185T series bow thruster and AGM battery is also under the V berth, which provides DC to both the windless and thruster. This battery is charged by the central charge controller and protected via a breaker and shut off system.
In the bow section you will find the anchor chain locker. Ground tackle consists of Lewmar Delta fast set manganese anchor attached to 500 feet of 3/8” anchor chain. This is the primary anchor and provides excellent holding ability. The secondary anchor is a stainless steel Lewmar Claw Style with 100 feet of 3/8” chain on 500 feet of 5/8 inch anchor rope. The backup anchor is a Fortress FX 37 on 50’ of chain/ 500 feet of 5/8” anchor rope. A Maxwell 1500 windless does the lifting.
On deck we use a Hood Systems Roller Furling H253.5 SeaFurls 2 for the head sails. A furling genoa with Sunbrella protector provides protection from the sun. A smaller storm sail with Sunbrella protector is also included in the head sail package. Both head sails are in very good condition and are built by Neil’s Pride. A new asymmetrical spinnaker with a sock is also part of the forward sail package. Mack brand fully battened with 3 reef points, main sail is new. A Mack Pack, Lazy Jack sail cradle, makes sail handling easy. A low friction VHMW Dash PE sale track and slide system allows one to raise the main sail without a winch and allows one to drop the main sail in seconds. A Sunbrella main sail cover protects the Mack Pack and main sail during storage.
Rigging has been recently inspected along with Chain Plates and are in good condition. 4 Lewmar Self-tailing winches provide easy sale handling from the cockpit. Additional winches are installed on the mast. A new Boom Vang was installed recently
