Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Wood epoxy composite construction.
  • Laminated ring frames positioned to make a strongback at the centerline to provide a single continuous structure. 
  • Laid with double diagonal veneers epoxy bonded at 45 degrees and then epoxy sheathed.
  • Central frames carbon reinforced to carry loadings for the mast mast, chain plates and high aspect lead keel.
  • Lignia decks both on deck and below. Lignia is fabricated from renewable soft wood which is epoxy treated making it very durable and low maintenance.
  • Solid Sipo mahogany with Awlwood full gloss treatment deckhouse.
  • Solid Sipo Mahogany trim in Awlwood and stainless steel.
  • Topsides finish is white with a touch of green Awlcraft high gloss paint with cavita line and white boot top. The name is on transom in gold leaf.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Rudder in multi laminated timber epoxy sheathed carried by a solid stainless steel stock.
  • Flattened bulb keel which optimizes high/low pressure separation, bolted to main structure.

Machinery

Motors:

  • 2 x Ocean Volt SD15 ServoProp propulsion systems.
  • 24 x Valance lithium ion batteries totaling 21KW.

Voltage Systems:

Battery Banks:

  • 48v propulsion bank consisting of 24 x Valance lithium ion batteries totaling 21KW (as above).
  • 24v Service bank consisting of 2 x Victron AGM 200Ah batteries.
  • 12v generator start battery.
  • Battery link - allows domestic batteries to parallel to start generator.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • The 48v propulsion system is via Victron Quattro charger/inverter (supplied via shore power or generator).
  • The 24v service bank is charged via two Powernet DC -DC converters (supplied from the propulsion batteries).
  • The 12v generator start battery is charged from the alternator running off the generator.

 

Generator:

  • Fischer Panda 18kW 48v generator aft of the main engines.

 

Shore Power:

  • 32A shore power, lead with RCBO and galvanic isolator fitted near yacht socket.

Plumbing Systems

  • ‘Plastic’ Marilon seacocks.

  • Schenker SART 60 - Digital 12/24 V dc 60 litres per hour watermaker, unused and uncommissioned.

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Whale Bilge IC Waste pump in 5 bilge areas, forepeak, main accommodation space, motor space, steering space and lazarette.
  • Manual bilge pump operated from cockpit for the main saloon bilge.
  • 5 electric bilge pumps operated by switch all with automatic float switches in the following positions -
    1. Forepeak bilge emptying into the anchor locker.
    2. Main accommodation x 2.
