Bénéteau on track to meet annual target

The French yacht-builder has reported a 19 per cent rise in sales during the first nine months of the current financial year

Groupe Bénéteau is expecting to meet its full-year targets for the 2010/11 financial year after posting a 19 per cent rise in sales during the first three quarters.

In the nine months ended May 31, 2011, total sales reached €677.7m. Sales of boats were in line with expectations — up by 20.1 per cent to €488.9m — while Bénéteau’s housing business exceeded expectations, rising by 16.2 per cent to €188.8m.

In light of strong sales and the level of the order book, Bénéteau expects to reach its annual target of €920m in 2010/11 — a 19 per cent rise over the previous year.

Bénéteau is currently the world’s largest sailboat producer and a leading manufacturer of motorboats in Europe. Earlier this year, the company unveiled its 2015 Plan to outperform the market with strong growth between now and 2015.

Bénéteau offers more than 100 models from 6m-18m (20ft-60ft) under the Bénéteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon and Prestige brands. The group is also responsible for CNB custom yachts and is expanding its range of 15m (49ft)-plus powerboats with Prestige Yachts and Monte Carlo Yachts.
