Arriving in Rebak Marina, Langkawi, in January 2025, this Fountaine Bahia 2005,4 cabin cruising catamaran, has just gone on the market for sale. The owner was fully prepped and ready for an Indian Ocean crossing but due to unforeseen circumstances, he has had to abandon the dream of the crossing this year, and even though he was loaded with fuel and food, he has had to put the boat on the market and fly home. He had just had so much work done in Thailand, ready for the crossing, inclusive of the new main, and boom bag, completely overhauled engines, rigging checks, new trampoline, new running rigging, new autopilot, and so much more. Safety and security on passage was his main focus, and small aesthetic things ( usual on a second hand boat) will be fun jobs available for the new owners as they get to know the boat.
But everything was working and ready to go when they pulled in and tied up the mooring lines here in Rebak last week.
In 2021, the catamaran received a full refit in Fiji worth approx. EUR 40.000,--. Prior to the planned transfer from Thailand to Europe, the boat underwent another extensive refit in dry dock from April till October 2024 for worth around EUR 60.000,--. Due to personal circumstances, however, the planned transfer is no longer possible, which is why the boat is now for sale.
All the photos were taken by SYS last week ( excpt a couple out on anchor and sailing ) and she presents really well. She's 100% ready to go, and a terrific live aboard, blue water cruiser, perfect for families, or a bunch of friends cruising, but who still want their own personal spaces. Communal areas in the cockpit and saloon are well planned, spacious and comfortable. And she sails beautifully!.
